So.... I wasnt near the bike all winter and just got back to it. I checked the spring. It springs. Turns just a little and pops back. So I have no idea where to go from here besides the repair shop and I dont even know where that would be haha. any other ideas?

Hey Guys, sorry for the lack of response on my end, its a pain getting my schedule to match my buddies who is storing the bike. SO. I got the clymer manual and have read it front to back, very enlightening though I have forgotten most of it already. I re-measure floats, they're spot on...

Ok, I'll do that next time I can get to her. Here's a picture of what I'm talking about with the float height measurement being wonky, the paper jig has a 21mm cutout and the float basically bottoms out there, did I measure it wrong? 21mm is the height I'm finding everywhere.

ok, and how do you know if theyre pulling equally? i looked through the manual, hope it isnt a dumb question.

correction: subjective to a dude who doesnt know anything! Obviously objective to someone who knows....

of course 'ran fine' is subjective, but it certaintly idled in the right range and rode ok minus the brakes being garbage

Whats up with people using these firestones? Im new to motorcycles but in cycling fatter tires = less power. Is that true on motorbikes too?

When I said top of float I meant bottom, I was thinking about how they look open and in my hands. also When i said 'flat' of the carb im talking about the gasket surface. Sorry, Im learning!

thanks for the quick response guys! The throttle cable is a little chewed and really wants to sit in an extremely dangerous place where it gets pinched by the steering lock since the clubmans sit so much lower than stock. ALL of the cables are routed like garbage actually. Ive looked for good...
