Zoöid Third Times a Charm CB175

I wouldn't paint that metal work, to go through all that work and then hide it behind paint just seems wrong. I wish I had the chance to build a bike at that age, well, I kind of did with pedal bikes, but it's not the same. I look forward to the finished bike.

The only thing that jumps out at me is the speedo, man that thing sticks out. I like the tank, but the dark paint just hides it's shape too much.

Sadly those frames don't tend to allow small tanks without much customization.

If the badge is freshly painted, use thinner to remove paint from the raised part of the letters, a scotch bright pad could do it too. Looks good so far. There are some nice aftermarket MC reservoirs out there, that don't stick up as high.

    XV920 Doc Chops VS Kott

But I'm not a fan of the big plastic housing, it's too much street, not enough race.

Another option is something like 3, but stacked vertically, you could add a custom body panel that goes with the tank, plus you have a place for wiring, switches, speedo/rev counter.

You love liquid electrical tape? Lol I much prefer heatshrink that has the glue that hermetically seals the connections, I use western-union-wire-splice that's soldered, it makes nice clean splices that are super strong.

    Nope, not even close.

Thumper, V-twin, Inline 4 Cafe racer

Cafe Racer started as a description of a design style, it began with a few examples and as it has become more popular, the envelop of what looks/is a Cafe Racer has evolved, just as what a sport bike has evolved, same with just about every genre of bike or car design. If we were talking...

    '81 TR1 build.................(yup another Mojave tank combo!!)

What a transformation, from "Trailer Trash Meth Head" to "Lean N Mean, Ultimate Fighter". The Exaust, has the best thought out rear cylinder exit routing I've seen yet, I was hoping something similar was possible for when/if I get an XV. Do make sure the tank's paint can withstand gas/petrol, I...

    '82 Moto Guzzi v50 Rebuild/Redesign

Here's a table for AWG amperage that I feel should help safely determine what wire to use, for low current(<5A) momentary draws a smaller gauge wire should be safe, I wouldn't use smaller than #18, the starter I would use the largest I could fit.

    TR1 wannabefast&light

Modding the tank will probably be the easiest, if you have someone that has the skill to weld aluminum and have it look good. Polished aluminum does look good, the transition from the tank to the seat will need attention too, it's the perfect time too, if you are already getting work done on the...

    HollywoodMX's xv920/TR1 Cafe super-dupe!

Yeah, wasn't cheap, but I knew I wanted to keep it from looking too cluttered with add-ons, so this way you won't really see anything till they're lit, it's very stealthy, another bonus is that I can swap it out to another bike very easily. I'm not familiar with that HD rear light setup, does...

There's nothing cheesy about that tank, other than being very popular, I would consider filling in the side buttons to change the look. Pressure test the tank, and get a welder to go over any of the bad welds. +1 for USD forks.
