Last year I upgraded the clutch springs in my R5 and replaced the 50 year old mechanical cable. The new cable ended up snapping at the end of the year. I was going to replace it again, but my confidence is shaken and figured it might be a good time to convert to a magura style hydraulic clutch...

OK, thanks. I was hoping it was a direct swap - too bad - I'm not a fan of that ratchet mechanism.

I'm a bit rushed, so excuse any lack of information. My ratchet gear on my kickstarter stripped on my 1970 Yamaha R5. I'm looking at replacing it with and noticed that the RD400 used the same kickstarter assy up until 1978. In 1979 they changed the assy to what appears to be a simpler design...
