I love a resto mod. IMHO, the tank decal doesn't look bad. Doing away with it is expensive. JAT. Corbin has better looking seats for KZ bikes.

My intent is an aftermarket top clamp. Otherwise, the stock switch will suffice. But, without the stock clocks and pilot box it's really going to stick out. Yes, I certainly understand your point.
I had my 9 yo grandson remove the engine. He did it all but pull the lump. If the nut was too tight, I showed him where to grab a longer pull handle. This is what it’s all about!
My engine parts are back from the machine shop. I need to carve out time to get on it. As far as I know, I have all of the parts. It is stock bore and stock cam.
I'm an XS650 geek myself. I've been caring for this one since new. Last weekend, I rode it 600 miles to Barber and back. It's coming up on 61,000 miles. I did the top end last winter.
