Here are a few pictures with the new lithium 4 cell. http://www.dimecitycycles.com/6-amp-hour-120-cca-antigravity-4-cell-battery.html completely opens up where the battery tray was. So much room for activities! Also cleaned up the wiring a bit so it was less awkward and dangly. Just discovered...
Honestly I'm not entirely sure. My buddy went through the wiring and cleaned it up and cleaned all of the connection points. More likely it seems it was just an old as shit battery that wouldn't hold a charge. I just upgraded to a 4 cell lithium and haven't had any issues.
Will keep the oil in mind. Jadus is sending me a new seat prototype to test out that should fit the bill perfectly but I won't post any pictures till it get's here and is on the bike. Until I've got the time to rebuild, a home depot run is definitely in order to grab some PVC for the time being.
Glad to be back. I'll give that PVC thing a shot and I've got a filter on the way. The airbox was trashed beyond saving when I bought the bike so pod filter will have to do for now. My new 4cell lipo arrived and holy crap it's tiny! gonna start mocking up a newer battery box. New controls and...
Update! So a lot has happened in the last couple of months. After installing a new ignition unit and head gasket the bike runs swell! Been daily driving it for about 3 weeks now and have put over 150 miles on it without so much as a hiccup. Still the stock carb. With the help of a good friend...
Been a while since I posted... after some soul searching and troubleshooting with a mechanic buddy it ended up being the ignition unit the whole time. Was running out of ideas and found a new one on ebay for cheap, threw it in and presto she ran beautifully. about 4 minutes later blew a head...
Good to know zap2504. If I run larger sizes will I have to run larger tubes as well? I've already ordered them. Also turns out the Durotour was the oem tire on the cb400ss in the early 2000's
Anyone have any experience with the IRC durotour? Seem to be one of the better option for rears when it comes to 120/90/16. http://www.revzilla.com/product/irc-durotour-rs-310-rear-tires
Yeah I guess I'll have to make some compromises there, but I'm pro hipster bike. I'll be returning the tires when they get here for some street ones. I was planning on doing the longer rears because of the dual sport aspect but man reality is a bitch.
Now that I have a lot more time to work with I'm less committed to replacing the carb instead of working with it, but I'll be sure to let you know if I want to go the VM carb route. Thanks for the advice!
So looks like I wont be without my car until June now which really gives me time to hopefully do this right. Emptied the tank today and gas was a bit yellow but the inside of the tank seems pretty clean and rust free. there is no signs of rust on the top and the fuel line filter is clean so I...
I'm all for criticism and It's a huge part of what I do, but it's pretty useless unless you provide it constructively. Thanks to you now I know that front is genuinely a not safe tire for the street (proper thank you for that one) but I'm back to square one and don't know what to do. That's why...
