    CB500T timing problem.

RESOLVED My bike is now running strong and fast finally. I meet with Mark Paris about three time trying to resolve this problem and finally did. The solution was to bore out the venturi holes in the needle jet holder (it's right above the main jet). I also bored out the slow jet venturi holes...

    CB500T timing problem.

No luck yet. I finally got to work on my bike this weekend. I have already tried to trimming back the wires. I also spliced out a bad kink in the right wire, still misfiring. Could something before the coils cause this or am I looking at a valve problem? Also what is the best way to test the...

    CB500T timing problem.

So I cleaned both carb's thoroughly and check for the dimples on the flout arms. There were dimples but they didn't seem like they were causing problems. I would like to try to replace my spark pug wires but I don't know how to do that. As always any thoughts or guesses would be great. thanks

    CB500T timing problem.

Yep I have checked the charging system. I think the regulator is bad. The rectifier is 0 Ohm's in one direction and 12, 5, 5 Ohm's in the other. According to the climbers manual it is suppose to be high in one direction and low in the other, so I think it checks out. I agree, it probable is a...

    CB500T timing problem.

Yes I have and they check out. I went and spoke with Mark paris and he suggested rechecking my floats and check to see if a dimple has formed on the float arm from the spring. He also wanted me to check the float needle for a white film. I will check these things and get back to you. If you have...

Tips on chasing a short to ground?

I had the same problem, kept popping fuses and my starter acted weird. After taring my bike apart I checked my right starter control and saw a bad solder job. I didn't think it was making contact with the bar but repaired it anyway and have not had a problem since. If you find no problem with...

    CB500T timing problem.

I have set them like that. Both points are at .13" the left is spot on the LF mark and the right is spot on at the F mark. They both advance with mark being In between the advance mark. However at 4 grand the right cylinder starts to show that it is missing and anything above gets even worse...

    CB500T timing problem.

I have replaced my points and resently cleaned them. I have also replaced my condencer. Thanks for the link. So I tried mark's fix and it did not help. However it did need a good clean. I was going to replace the avancer springs but can't find anyone that sells them. What else would cause it to...

    '75 CB500T new member help

If you keep the air filter housing and just replace the filters with foam or Uni filters, the breather box will work just as it would with a stock air filter. Side note, make shore the rubber grommet around the air box creates a good seal.
