    1972 Honda CB750 K2 - Blowing my fuse

Swapped out the points and condenser. Finally ran on the first kick. So far it ain’t blowing a fuse so i’m pretty stoked.

    1972 Honda CB750 K2 - Blowing my fuse

I manage to narrow it down to the coils, when I disconnect the black/white from the coils to the harness it allows the bike to stay on without blowing the fuse. I checked the coils itself on both the primary and secondary with the multimeter. Everything seems to be in spec. However I did notice...

    1972 Honda CB750 K2 - Blowing my fuse

I've double checked all my wires and no signs of pinches or any bare wire sticking out. I can't figure out another way to diagnose the situation. My thoughts were leading to the charging system, perhaps just change out the regulator and rectifier for a dual solid state rectifier/regulator.

    1972 Honda CB750 K2 - Blowing my fuse

I replaced the old harness and fuse box with new ones but I'm still blowing my 15a main fuse. It mainly occurs when I'm kickstarting the bike and intermittently when i turn the kill switch from off to on position after I turn the key. I checked all my connections and grounds, all seem to be in...

    1972 Honda CB750 K2 sounds like a Harley

Re adjusted the ignition timing & fixed the wiring for the coils did the trick. Although I'm noticing white smoke from my exhaust pipe and the front portion of the engine close to the exhaust connection. This isn't normal is it?

    1972 Honda CB750 K2 sounds like a Harley

The coil's are brand new, got them from vintage CB750. I'll probably check out the spark plugs to see if the mixture is too lean or rich then adjust the jets as necessary. Could I just adjust the jets or do I also need to adjust the needle ?

    1972 Honda CB750 K2 sounds like a Harley

So I recently got my bike up and running, installed a 4 in 1 MAC exhaust system but noticed the overall sound of the bike is more like a Harley rather than a typical Honda CB750. I'm not really familiar to what affects the overall sound of the bike. Could it just be the exhaust system I...

    Oily situation

On a 72' CB750, how does one know the oil is getting into the engine. By filling up the oil tank, shouldn't gravity just do most of the work. I only ask this because when I went to pour in new oil in the tank the oil level won't go down.

    CB750 Ignition Coil Test Problems

When I check my primary i get around 4.7 ohms at 200 on both coils. Secondary testing on both coils: Coil 1- 13.90 @20K ohms & Coil 2 - 15.20 @ 20K ohms. Are those readings normal? I guess if I don't get any readings with the resistor caps, it's probably what's causing the problem?

    CB750 Ignition Coil Test Problems

is it possible to replace the whole lead with a new lead if I cut it too short?

    Carburetor overflowing/not flowing (Honda CB750 K2)

Trying to clean out & refurbish this old carburetor. I'd adjust the floats accordingly to specs but one of either 4 carbs would either not fill, overflow. I can't seem to get the floats at the right height. Would there be another thing causing this occurrence? I was also told by the previous...

    CB750 Ignition Coil Test Problems

I know there's a method of testing the coils without the multimeter but I've heard that there many components that cause an inaccurate diagnosis. So far I did the basic test of starting the bike with the spark plugs off & grounded to the exterior of the engine. So I'd receive at least little to...

    One Kick Wonder - CB750 K2

How does one exactly tune up the engine so it kickstarts with one kick? Also can someone explain to me how the kickstart actually works?

    1972 Honda CB750 K2 - Won't Start

So apparently I did need a new battery. The engine finally turns but doesn't fire up. I notice for my ignition switch the bike will only start when the key is on the 1st position rather than the 2nd. It actually turns off when i turn it to the 2nd position. I don't suppose that's normal?

    1972 Honda CB750 K2 - Won't Start

I couldn't help but notice on the service manual it indicates that the starter relay is right where the magnetic switch(solenoid) is. Are they the same thing or completely separate part?
