** PICS OF MEMBERS RIDES ** - Official Before & After Thread

Doctor Jones Absolutely a beautiful job on this 750! Inspiring, I've been putting off doing mine for 2nd time but this is exactly where it was headed all along. Mine is also black but was thinking of silver red factory race livery but I dont think it will be as STRIKING as your all black job...

Guzzi Cali Cafe - Build Thread

Bevelhead, i dont understand how it works, as it is unfamilar . How does it hold the bike from falling over ? most lifts, platform style has clamp on front wheel and or tie down straps to handle bars for service. some times there is drop out plate to service rear wheel. many times there is...

Speedfreak, I like your conversion to cafe racer, nice job, however why in the world would you so fundamentaly change a LeMans? I always thought they were pretty quintessential. (not the first to utter this!). Some changes are inevitable, nuances, improvements, cold weather, hot weather...

Bevelhead , I was going to ask what is notch at front of seat for until I saw in one of your pics, its to get access for the seat hold down bolt. I originally thought it was to clear the angled backbone tube of the frame but realised that ends under the tank. My Norton Manx has a large cut out...

Guzzi Cali Cafe - Build Thread

Grtz Frank, in looking at Bevelheads pics, I was going to ask that very question as it seem like there is space between the frame tubes under the tank with no equipment there, although rising heat from the engine may be an issue !(electrical items don't like heat) My honda 750 stores the coils...

Bevelheadmhr, Would you, could you zip me a couple of pics of the way the MG attaches, hangs or sits on the bike stand on the bike lift? Does it engage the steering neck with a short piece of tubing? and then rest on rear wheel of bike, bipod effect? We have this style lift here but I have...

Norton / Harley Ironhead Cafe Project.. Build thread

Bevelheadmhr, Short of resting it ON something, I'm saying rest it AGAINST the lower frame tube which is just above the swing arm axle tube so the frame doesn't need to modded but hang it at the top of the tank in the center of the top so its balanced. I agree resting it on the eng. or trans...

Norton / Harley Ironhead Cafe Project.. Build thread

Let me make an observation about the oil tank for a future revision. My oil bag (stock steel tank) on my Triumph 650 would tear the tabs off the tank and open a hole on the back side even though the tank was suspended from 2 straps with tubes at the end and 2 isolastic rubber bushes. The oil...

Bevelhead, Got my delivery of my Cali II and a line on the frame conversion pieces. What happened to all the photos? My brother swears by photobucket but I've seen too many times pics disappear forever but their advert stays forever. I prefer to post .jpeg' s only.

Guzzi Cali Cafe - Build Thread

Hi BH, I think this linkage needs to be adjusted differently as the angle of the dangle looks like it bears too acutely on the ball joint. I know its only a gear change and not a brake linkage but it appears the splined joint needs to be more rotated and the connecting link needs lengthening so...

    81 CX500 yes, it's true, I lied. Build #5

Weld what in ? loss of pics screwed this thread ! yes it needs an under seat tray or box as the hanging down wires and stuff look like crap. This seat pan was hollow below no? plenty of room. I'll bet square edge of seat pan will be extra annoying on a long ride or when you're sliding side to...

Think baby Moto Guzzi '78-'87 750/850 Le Mans one of the sweetest cafes of all time right from the factory paint it bright international orange and you could fool a few folks. A stream line fairing and a mono shock..... time warp for sure. Even the nickel tank is a throwback MG feature.
