"Cafe Racer" such a loose term! Craigslist "Gem" of the week!

Saw this today while listing a bike for sale. As an EMT I'm afraid I'll end up at the scene of this accident.

    XV920RH - Suspension Update

So this probably should have been in the last post but I didn't get to it Sunday as I was helping my buddy teach his girlfriend how to ride. so less time to dedicate to the bike. One issue I had when I bought the bike was the sad state of the wiring harness. Between wire nuts, crimp connectors...

    XV920RH - Suspension Update

It's been a while, Supermoto season has me focused on the track bike and with odd jobs coming in and the horrid humidity it's been unpleasant to say the least when it comes to working on the bike. So what have I managed to accomplish? well I painted a few bits and made some brackets for the...

Motorcycle Powered Kart: Father Daughter Project

Deviant, part of circle track and super kart design is chassis flex, they're actually designed to lift the inside rear wheel when turning. this is necessary to counter the under steer presented with the solid rear axle. The same thing happens on an ATV with a solid axle but under different...

    XV920RH - Suspension Update

So my least favorite game by far is "sit and wait for parts" especially when a long weekend comes and you're wanting to make progress. I did get other goodies but one of the items I was really hoping would show up didn't show. So Daytona 955i Rear shock showed up this week, also had to order a...

    XV920RH - Suspension Update

The holiday is the worse time to get parts in I didn't really get anything done. Super boring update, I was working on making a tool roll for the bike but I ran into technical difficulties halfway through the process, I'm going to use an antique phrase "Gotta call the sewing machine repairman...

    XV920RH - Suspension Update

the XV920RH was available in the US, only in 81-82 though. All 81's are chain drive. Parts showed up this weekend but my sunday was cut out due to problems at work and me being the lucky guy on call. I'll have pictures once I'm able to do something with them. So, This evening I spent some...

    XV920RH - Suspension Update

Sunday Updates :D So I've been helping my brother with his foxbody mustang which has kept my busy this week parts actually came in but I haven't bothered with it because I've been busy. last sunday I picked a wheel up from a friend of mine from a fixerup SV650 that's on hold for a while he was...

    HONDA CM400 '81 -> 450 cafe racer (DUTCH)

That's really quite impressive, these bikes aren't usually on the receiving end of heavy conversion. That engine is definitely a torquey lump though for it's size/weight. I hope to see your plans fully fleshed out. I have a feeling it will spark more people to start their own CM based build.

    XV920RH - Suspension Update

I put the front wheel up on the truing stand Tuesday evening and going to have to trash it. Wheel isn't true so I'm off hunting for another option. That's not all, one thing I noticed was the front end sitting awfully low when I had it back on it's wheels I kickstand was hitting the ground at 4...

    XV920RH - Suspension Update

Some of you might have seen my overly ambitious attempt at a hybrid build so after thinking about it for a while I decided to shelve the CB750 build for a while and focus on something simpler. I've been considering doing an XV for a while but every one for sale around here was a shaft drive...

    1996 KLX650 C the KLR's Weird Brother.

I found this to be odd compared to how sportbikes are setup... the big one is for the suspension linkage and the smaller one is for the swingarm pivot... And Just a little further and it'll be a roller!

    1996 KLX650 C the KLR's Weird Brother.

I'd like to introduce this fun little bike I bought on a whim. It's a 1996 Kawasaki KLX 650 C (Road Legal) I bought this from a fellow out in the sticks, a good several miles on a gravel back road. out into the heart of virginia. He was looking to part with it to help fund his 50's Chevy Truck...
