Thanks! he's surprisingly effective too. Done a few little jobs here and there lately, but nothing worth posting up. I think i'm going to do away with that seat and knock up a fibreglass seatpan and a closed cell foam seat, I just cant get away with the dodgy transition to the tank. I'd like to...

Post a pic of something you made!

Not really "made," but I've been tinkering in solidworks after work for the last few days knocking up a hossack front end concept. Haven't done any proper linkage calcs so don't read too far into the kinematics. Also, I know belt driven steering is a bit on the sketchy side... I'm...

    Want to get into welding

I'd 100% recommend proper MIG over flux core. You can just get small disposable gas bottles if storage is that much of an issue. That said, stick would be the best purely from an educational point of view. Once you've mastered stick you will find MIG a piece of cake, and tig will be a much...

    CB250 RS - Project "Phoenix"

That thing's going to be a ton of fun to ride. I think the tank would look a lot better with an inch or two added to the swinging arm. I don't suppose your machinist need a new friend does he?

Keep burning up cams & rockers

Does it run fine before the cams/rockers bite the bullet? No wear on the back side of the lobes sounds like the might be stiction in the valve guide/oil seal, have you checked them over? Add have you checked that you're definitely getting a good amount of oil?

Mocked up a hump frame. I thought the undercut was a good idea, but i think i prefer the photoshop from earlier. I'm thinking of getting some slightly longer shocks to jack the back end up a little, but obviously don't want to alter the head angle too much. stock is 28°, 30mm longer...

    Rusty Looking Fuel Tank Ideas

A salt and vinegar mix works well. Just make sure you sand through any rust inhibiting layer, some tanks get zinc plated before paint. Getting it to look good is the hard part though, nothing worse than forced and unnaturally even rust.

That rear end looks so slick!

    Project CB690 (KTM 690 engine in a CB550f frame)

Awesome build, I've always wanted to drop a big modern single into a lightweight street frame too. Also, major workshop envy..... I need to learn to clean up after myself.

FRANKENHONDA II the 1982 DOHC CB 750F2 Build

Surely a blowtorch will get a bit of heat in there way more effectively? have you tried getting a shim into the split line?

    1999 Yamaha V Star 650 brat/cafe thing

Thats a nice job on the tank. I'm with Jamboree on the Ferrari badges though.

Nice build mate, very thorough. I'd be tempted to get a tig wizard on those fins and hand shape them back.

Not much of an update, but the bike's been out of the garage for the first time in over a year so I've taken a few pics. Also soldered up a small adaptor piece so I can run both indicators through one LED warning light. I'm not entirely happy with how the back end is looking. I've...
