I used the help of members from xjbikes.com and their simple wirng harness for cafe bikes to clear up the old rats nest and lost some weight in the process. It fired up and ran long enough for me to see the carbs puking fuel all over the place. I cleaned those up and bought some gasket material...
gonna take a small break. I bought an 81 yamaha seca 750 basket case. got it running today and gonna make it legal over the next two days. I have the gas tank on the honda almost done. I need to sell some stuff to recoup some of my expenses lol. gonna make a new post on the seca.
Thanks to the fine engineering on this poor yamaha tank I have some perfect humps for the front of my tank. most of my pieces are ready to put together and I am waiting on a few more to dry so I can overlay the entire tank..YAY!!!

Soon as the tank is done will start strengthening the frame and then on to wiring. I can...
Busy day today !
We got the mounts completed. tacked em up really good and will finish weld soon.
Made sure we could drop the engine for repairs easily and we only have to remove 8 bolts and 2 mounts to do so.
put the engine back in and started masking off for the fiberglass gas tank. hope...
A few minutes on google put onto the idea of using a car heater core or two and using fans on that. I plan on putting side covers over the triangle section of frame so I could mount em there. I really wanna keep those classic lines.
O.K. got the mounts worked out, just have to move one hole (Yay!!!) and the motor should sit in straight and the chain will line up. I put the chain on it today and the sprockets are so different that the teeth dont line up between them on the same chain?? So I have to figure out how many teeth...
Wow that is thin. the stuff I used soaked up resin like a sponge. check out a boat shop somewhere around you and look at all the different types of glass they have.
