she's changed forms a few times now... 1970 Honda CL450

took her out for a nice long ride and vintage show, and en route, she started leaking oil like a stuck pig does blood. Ended up being the shift shaft seal, so i replaced both the push rod seal and shift shaft seal. Also found out, from the 2nd mauled clutch cable lifter, that the 450 does not...

After many hours in the garage tracing god knows how many shorts in the wiring, i'm finally up and running. Went on a few rides over the long weekend and was reminded of just how amazing it is to be able to ride a motorcycle. Certainly have missed it. Snapped a few pics after my first ride...

uhm, you don't fix an oil leak with JBweld, you pull the case off and replace the gasket after completely cleaning both mating surfaces. thats like trying to put a band-aid on a gunshot wound to your head...not going to do too much about the spillage and makes you look like a doofus.

I do miss her, but the chunk of change was hefty enough to warrant sale. I can always build another, 360s are common enough, and the labor of love is always fun. Sold it locally to a guy up in Colorado Springs.

Finally got her running again! Still have some wiring to sort out, but 2 kicks and she started right up...quiet core exhaust is slightly more throaty than the stock mufflers, which is a far-cry better than the deafening open mufflers it had. I'll get a nice running vid going soon, and also...

fuck and yes. as expected, not disappointed. Outpost exhaust shields turned out real nice. all in all, she's an 11.
