I will always struggle with purposely doing something stupid. I do stupid crap all the time and regret it. But when building a bike, you have lots of time to figure out that what you're doing is stupid.
Nobody SHOULD café a Goldwing or a Virago. The world is full of many, many great foundations for a sporty, fun project... Neither of those qualify in my eyes. And a sportster is as sporty as a Harley gets.. And is the closest thing to an XR750 Harley makes for the street... So a tracker...

There is an enormous difference between an old 500 seat pan and a unicorn upper clamp off an early 750. Don't cut up parts that are rare.. When you can use a different part off the later version of the bike that has little value and requires no cutting. I hate that that my upper clamp has the...
