    CL175 - Runabout

Re: CL175 - Hell on Wheels To wrap the baffles do you just roll the fiberglass around the middle pipe and stuff it back in the exhaust?

First ground up build - Cl175 cafe "restomod"

Welp. Finished priming and finally got some color on the frame today. This is a pic after about 4 coats and in person it looks like a chocolate bar melted all over it. Just what I was going for. photo by Nestorpants, on Flickr

Re: CL175 - Hell on Wheels Great bike. I'm gonna steal your exhaust muffling method for sure.

First ground up build - Cl175 cafe "restomod"

Hey everyone, apologies for the almost year long delay. Personal stuff came up so I had to put my project on hold. I tinkered with a GT380 that I got for a while and am now back to finishing what I started with the CL. Picking up where I left off. Paint.. photo 1 by Nestorpants, on Flickr...

My First build, '71 cb175 *lots of help will be asked through this*

It's always good to see another smaller cc bike on here. And in the bob and chop section too! The fuel lines on my bike were super simple. The two nipples underneath the tank were just connected to each other by a short tube. I'll see if I can dig up a photo.

Finally got around to reading the rattle can bling article and it was super helpful. I primed the swing arm in the garage. Here's the result. This is the only piece however that I'll be painting in the garage. Today I plan on making a DIY spray booth either out of some PVC or an...

I learned this lesson the annoying way by buying the wrong fsm. The 68-69 175s were slopers while 69.5-73 are full frame. Mine is the 69.5 version so my engine sits inside the frame.

First ground up build - Cl175 cafe "restomod"

As I was stripping the paint off last night I was amazed at the condition of the metal underneath. So I thought, "wouldn't it be cool if I could keep it this color?" Can I just spray clear coat over the bare metal? Is this an exercise in bad taste? I'm not even sure what to google to find...

First ground up build - Cl175 cafe "restomod"

Progress! I finally got a little bit of time to put in today an got the bike stripped down to this point. I'm pretty sure I dropped about 20 lbs of weight just by scraping off all the crap that's been accumulating over the last 43 years. I was on the fence about rearsets until I took off the...

I've actually considered moving to a different state just to evade smog laws and find barn bikes for cheap. Registration is easier in other states too. Man California sucks. Can't beat the weather though. Anyways small update finally took the exhaust and bars off last night and will hopefully...
