    Tall Rider?

I'm 6'0" and regularly do a daily 45mi round trip commute on mine. Plenty of leg room to spare. Maybe even opt for some Clubman bars so that you bend lower into the wind. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You're right, again. [emoji3] PS: The new exhaust is a little louder than expected as you had warned. Will have to pack it with something to see if that tones it down a bit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That inlet track looks great. Makes you want to remove the biggest restriction left which is the choke flap. Maybe even modify it by using a thinner plate and spot welding it to a thinner pin. Not sure if this is your race setup or for street use? Have printed the electrical diagram and will...

Well I'm trying but at this stage it feels like I'm going 1x step forward and 3x back... Changed the front brake pads okay tonight. Will need to do some research before I change the brake hose as brake fluid is nasty stuff and you have to do that job right for safety reasons. Next had a go at...

To those of you that have done the cam upgrade, could you confirm if I need the cam with a groove for a retaining C-clip, i.e. Ressalto WGK1010851 or WGK1010871 without a groove. Hope I got that correct and didn't mix the numbers/(no)groove? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yep, that looks like a worthwhile investment. On the ever extending list now. Mounted the new exhaust last night, went for a short ride and then remembered I hadn't degreased it first. Grabbed a rag and can of degreaser and then proceeded to melt the rag on the hot pipe. FFS! Will have to try...

Some goodies arrived from OORacing today. :) First items on will be the new header and end pipe. Baffle looks reasonable so hope it won't be too noisy. Next probably will be the 34-tooth rear sprocket which I hope will be concentric to the hub as opposed to the current stock sprocket which...

Had some success today and the bike started to show me some love after fighting me for a while. Took the tappet cover off and found the valve clearances to be tight as... Sorted those out. Also pulled plug and gapped that. Tweaked idle and fuel screws and it all seems to start and run better...

Thanks for the tip re Skyteam Canberra. Will support them when/if they get their online shop going. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Dyno day

12.43 rear wheel HP should equate to 15-16 HP at the crank of a 150cc, or ~100 HP per litre which was the old measure for an engine that was worth talking about. Not bad for an air-cooled, push rod, china motor. Well done!

Thanks for the tips re the suspension, carb gasket and muffler. Was hoping the exhaust wouldn't be too loud. Will have to fab a baffle of sorts if it is too obnoxious. That tach looks good. Digital speedo and revs around the edge? Shift light? I need to decide between old style analogue or new...

Thanks guys for the prod to upgrade the suspension. The two of you are legends on this Ace forum so will immediately have to go shopping again. Will scan for the topic and see what the consensus is in terms of what to get. I'm only 70kg so won't need anything too heavy duty.

Knock, knock... Well I finally succumbed and bought an Ace. A real beaut from Gumtree with a mere 23km on the clock despite it being a 2013 model! Comes fitted with a few extras from OORacing including a new CDI, spark plug, jets, front sprocket, grips, de-restricted stock exhaust, EGR plate...

Skyteam Ace Perth Get Together Tue or Wed 15/16th March

Well now, that is encouraging! :) The mods you explained are basic so with a bit of extra work it sounds very doable. Is the bike comfortable on the ass and wrists for a long steady commute as opposed to bouncing around the saddle on a twisty back road? Haven't see any Ace's on the morning or...

I'm with you. Wishing I had your back roads and hills nearby to go fanging around on, or a shorter in-city commute. The commute and hence day-to-day usage will probably be the deciding factor on which project bike I pick up in the end. Still looking at the Ace but have spent a lot of time on...
