Recommendations for rear view cam please?

Interesting idea, did you make a decision yet? I would think the camera would vibrate like crazy and the video would be to shaky. If you have access to a gopro or something similar try mounting that like you would the small camera and take a look at the recorded video to see if the quality is...

    Electrical conversion question

Btw 5A at 12vdc is still 60 watts, a fair amount of power. P=A x V. How much power does you ignition require? 1974 CB360, 2015 Ducati Scrambler

    Electrical conversion question

Your calc for converting the same amount of power at 12 vdc looks correct, however you cannot apply that to the capacity of the switch. A rough estimate would be to use the same current for dc as ac, so about 5A. The is a lot of things to consider, arcing on the contacts surface are of the...

LED headlight question for the electrical gurus

Have you opened up the lights? If there is a controller in there, and all you want is the lights to be on or off, then just bypass the controller. Make sure your not bypassing the resisters or voltage regulator that drop the voltage. Led's only need about 2-3 volts, so depending on how they...

    CB360 - restore, maintain, ride

Quick update. I finished resetting the timing and points gap, checked with the strobe light and it was pretty close. I may tweak it to get it bang on later. Also patched the muffler, ill attach pictures tomorrow. Took it out for a spin and it is like a new bike! So much more power off the...

    CB360 - restore, maintain, ride

I re-adjusted the a/f mixture and it seems to be running better, less stumble off the start. Bad news is I think I figured out where the rattle was coming from. The muffler on the right side had broken off right at the connection to the pipe. So now I'm looking for a new set of mufflers, any...

    CB360 - restore, maintain, ride

hmmm I don't think I did, thanks. Top of the list for that one. I was considering pulling the carbs and checking the float level. I think I set them to 18.5 but after reading a lot of the threads here I may try 20.

    CB360 - restore, maintain, ride

Quick update. With the new brake pads (and the grease and nylon washer and deglazed disk) no more squeaks. The bike is running sooo much better with the uni filters in place. I checked one of the new plugs and it is still fouled with black soot. I noticed one new behaviour with the uni...

    CB360 - restore, maintain, ride

Did the back, but did not wash it down with brake cleaner :-\ The original brakes did not have the nylon washer. I got a new one with the new pads and installed it along with the pads. I put a lot of grease on that back in and around the nylon washer too.

    CB360 - restore, maintain, ride

Thanks for response. This was the status of the disk in my first attempt to de-glaze, but I didn't de-glaze the pads too. I've already put the new pads on the bike, since I had them, but have not had a chance to ride yet. I'll take the disk off again and go at it like it owes me money >:( .

    CB360 - restore, maintain, ride

They've been squealing like a stuck pig. When I had the rim off I removed the disk and sanded it with wet/dry (80 grit I think) using an orbital sander. Still squealed... Do you think it was the lack of grease in the calipers that caused the squealing? Brake lines are rubber but look OK, no...

Spring cleaning #7 - Carb sync Since it was raining I thought I would re-sync the carbs now that they have the new filters on them. Attached a pic of my DIY manometer. For those interested here is a video of the event ;) . Cheers, Peter
