Make those welding gloves custom!
Chuck.leis--- Thank you for the information! Your mom sounds like a champ... upholstery is not easy
... I never looked at the color combo that way, but i totally dig it, its a clean look.
Reminds me of summer (Cannot wait to ride this baby)
I have never tried the Kevlar thread before... This thread is a wax nylon thread, its used for leather sewing especially moccasins and other leather, from my experience it has proven pretty heavy duty... However on that note I don't now how it will hold up to the elements. Let me know how that...
Since I have now finally caught up my blog with my build...
I am currently working on the seat upholstery. Using the same leather you can see on the tank. I plan to hand stitch the whole shebang with a sewing awl. (since this leather is fairly thick and I don't have a nice industrial sewing...
Now the paint... Both were DuPont professional paints... The body was a flat sage green and the tank is a glossy off white... First time painting with spray-guns and respirators... Came out great for a rookie :P
PS. Pictures keep flipping upside down... but you get the picture (no pun intended:P)
Ok I also solved the issue with my tank and petcock by cutting off the tank brackets and moving them back... Replacing the big gaping hole with some steel pipe... After all the miscellaneous fabrication that I had done. I decided I was ready to paint. So here are some pictures of the cleaning...
Alright.... I am back :P
A lot has happened in these last months so I'll post all my achievements :)
I decided to hack the end off... since I needed clearance...
I modified the end to a point so I would have maximum clearance with the battery tray...
