Hey guys is there anyway I can shorten my stock cables on my 450 so that they will function correctly wil clip-ons? The OEM length with clip ons just doesn't look or function good.
I made some new cables for my project from 8 gauge wire that I picked up at yhe local auto store. Also used 8 ga. ring connectors and heat shrink tubing. Worked out very well. :)
Picked up some 8 gauge wire. Guy at the auto store said it should handle the amps. Roughly same size as the original ones but the strands are larger, should I use it?
Hello all. i am planing on changing out the power and ground wire cables on my battery and the one running to the starter. which size wire should I use, would larger than stock be better?

i am in the process of turning my cm450 into a cafe racer and have installed pod filters. My vent for the crankcase comes out of the valve cover and originaly was connected to the stock air box by a rubber hose. now that i have the air box removed, i'm not sure the best way to "vent"...
I am working on a CM450E which is very similar to your bike. I replaced my stock teardrop style tank with one from a 76-77 Cb550F. Fit good with a little modification! Had to shorten the stems for the tank rubbers, make extra room for the coil, and fab new rear mount. Other than that not to bad...
I know the feeling! I am working on an 83 CM450, same frame and I ended up cutting of the complete rear frame to suit the cafe style seat and frame lines. Used 1" OD 0.120" wall tubing and it worked great. Alot of work! I'll post some pics of my build soon. I had already purchased a fiberglass...
