My newly acquired 1977 Moto Guzzi V1000 Convert. This is a shaft drive automatic originally designed for the US police. Not sure if it's practical to make a cafe racer out of this. Where would you start? Leave as is, partial/full restoration or attempt cafe racer custom?

The R5 surely... I had a bike almost identical to this one, but in the UK. Great in a straight line but a bit wobbly around corners.

Not quite sure what "sponsor" means in this context! Do you mean just to propose and then organize the ride, or do you mean something like a poker run where folks are expected to donate? One possibility is what we would call the "Bike Shop Series". Each ride is to a dealership out of town...

I don't ride a Triumph! Will I get shunned if I turn up on a Ducati? ;)
