    M-unit and Regulator/Rectifier for Honda CB 400 F

Thank you for your reply. Can you explain why the black needs to go to aux output. I don't understand the function of the black wire.

    M-unit and Regulator/Rectifier for Honda CB 400 F

Hi guys! I'm doing my very first build, and almost everything is new to me, so I naturally need a little help once in a while. It's a Honda CB 400 F from 77. I have decided to go with a M-Unit V2 and also bought a combined regulator and rectifier. I'm currently drawing the new wire diagram...

    Cam bearings, wrong or not?

Okay so I just saw this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrFK8x-DUVY from Hackaweek, where he explains everything a bit further. I understand now that I will have take a look on my crank and find the numbers one there, and also try and find a selection table for bearing on my CB 400. But...

    Cam bearings, wrong or not?

Hi guys! My Cb 400 F engine is apart, and I have used plastigage on all 5 bearings, and they are within specification (I have misplaced the paper where i wrote it on, so maybe ill do another check, but i definitely remember that they where all within spec.) On my crankcase its say BBBCC, but...

How much heat can valve stem seals handle?

I've decided to take out the valves myself. I thought it was to big of an task but after a YouTube video, I decided it could be that hard. I'm happy I did it. So I will do as you have suggested and not having to worry about what temperature my stem seels will brake. 200 Fahrenheit and 200...

How much heat can valve stem seals handle?

Thank you for the answer. I believe my can says "Apply heat and gradually build-up to maximum working temperaure" - but 200 degrees Celsius has been the curing temperature for the other parts, so if that works for the valve and the head, I will continue to do so. (the paint so be able to...

How much heat can valve stem seals handle?

Hi guys! I'm doing my CB 400 F rebuild. I'm painting the engine with VHT Aluminium paint, and I'm curing it in the oven. But how about my head and the valve stem seals? How much heat can they handle? Obviously they must be able to handle working temperature of the heads, so I could just cure...

    Preparing and painting hubs

I can do that in my own oven I figure. So I clean it down as much as possible as I have already done, oven for an hour and then blast it all. Sounds like an easy way to prep your aluminium. Guess it's a good idea for engine parts as well. I have two questions Will it smell? Will all the...

    Preparing and painting hubs

Hmm I think I give it a try myself then. Heat prep it as well to give that extra durability.

    Preparing and painting hubs

Thank you for the replies! I have decided to glass blast them, best way to get a good result. I had hoped to paint them myself, put I see the issue in the paint chipping. I could also polish it all, but won't it just fade and corrode and be impossible to maintain with the spokes being in my way?

    Preparing and painting hubs

I've already sanded and polished on the drum cover, so I'm beginning to understand that process, so I understand that. My issue is all the small corners where I can't sand, and therefore can't preb the metal or remove the grease probably. What kind of abrasive?
