    camshaft rotor removal 73 RD350

Camshaft ??? It's a two stroke! But seriously, you can use a bolt to do it. One of the motor mount bolts does the trick if I recall. Thread it in while holding the crank still and it will pop off. Or buy a special tool but you don't need to.

    1969 Yamaha DS6C

Nice find. I have a couple boxes of YDS6 parts somewhere around here. Cylinders, heads and ignition I think, but it's been a few years since I eyeballed them. We converted the street version into a TD2 roadracer and kept the street bike engine parts.

    Opinions needed: 77 CB550 Frame "Rake/Stance"

Oh boy. I'm guessing you're not talking about rake as defined in relation to the rake and trail designed into the forks.

    Yamaha RD400 test harness question

You are talking about wiring a total-loss system. Very simple. Battery positive will go to the coils positive (the resistor would be in this part of the circuit if one is being used). The coils ground goes to the points, there should be a wire already there hopefully. The battery ground...

Yamaha rd350 Road Racer Liquid Cooled!!

Re: Yamaha rd350 road racer I heard back from the fellow with the Chinese cylinders and he reports no problems, he piped it, added an electronic ignition, and ran the bike for a couple years then sold it. Used it to teach his then 13 year old son to ride too. Now that's a dad!

Yamaha rd350 Road Racer Liquid Cooled!!

Re: Yamaha rd350 road racer Teazer hit the nail on the head. I would not mis-match bores on a race bike that lives at 10k most of the time, but you're not building that bike. I think I still have some 350 cylinders under my bench. I'll look and if there is right side closer to your left in...

Yamaha rd350 Road Racer Liquid Cooled!!

Re: Yamaha rd350 road racer I just emailed the gent for his experience with them. I reread my old correspondences with him and they were actually Chinese manufacture. I also had noted that one intake port floor was a very rough casting that had a large void where it should have met the liner...

Yamaha rd350 Road Racer Liquid Cooled!!

Re: Yamaha rd350 road racer Fantastic discussion gentlemen. All I'll add is that I worked on a set of the India made cylinders back in 2010 for a customer and one of the sleeves was offset to the port castings by several mm. I can't recall just how much, and the porting requested took care...

    RD350 Cafe Resto-Mod Build

Nicely done. That's a proper period style cafe racer. So glad you did not hack and chop and lower like so many do nowadays. You have a bike that will show its tail light to a lot of other projects here. And you have plenty more speed to get if you have Scott or Gary (or Mobius, Teazer or...
