You mentioned that you don't have experience opening a motor up, but from this entire build, it seems like you know your way around a motor. I say go for it. I'm on board for the rest of this build!

That's actually an incredible bike. If all those notes are true, I wouldn't mess with that thing at all but to get all the safety issues rectified. I personally don't like purple either, but man, I will shed a tear if you start tearing that bike apart.
This is really all that needed to be said, but xb tends to get abrasive. I agree for once though, I only added a rear hoop as a modification and I paid a guy to do that, and even that guy hated mono shocks and refused to do them for customers.
I'm totally interested to read about the outcome as well! I'm not vested either way, so as an impartial bystander, this whole thing is getting very entertaining!
Will be interesting to see how well you get it tuned with velocity stacks. I follow a lot of DOHC builds and most people end up giving up and going back to the air box, unless you have better carbs than the stock ones. Maybe you mentioned it in your build and I just didn't see it. If so...
