So I bought a house and now I've got a garage to work in. Lifehack: If you're going to build a motorcycle, make sure you don't live in an apartment. I've been getting the electrical sorted out. I'm modifying the original harness which was in pretty good shape save for the bit that melted...

I made up a battery box. No CNC. That's all band saw, hand files, and sandpaper wrapped around a screwdriver shaft.

Drilled the rotor and gave it a new coat of paint along with some spacers. Used satin black VHT chassis and roll bar epoxy paint. Went on real nice. My Dime City order arrives tomorrow!

First Build! 1980 xs400 special (question, progress, and help)

I'm working on an xs360 and mine was much nastier in under the sprocket cover. I went with some ebay clip-ons. I like the much cleaner look over clubmans. My forks are 33mm and i'd bet yours are too but I'd measure to make sure. Good luck on your build.

Bit of a setback. Had to rebuild the front wheel. After I got the tire fitted I noticed that all the spokes were slightly bowed in the same direction. Ended up using a dremel to chamfer all the nipple holes on the back edge. Got that worked out and stripped the left (stator) side covers...

Shamus- Yeah, the problem with these yams is that the rear frame is just too damn wide. Initially I was planning on a standard rear loop but when I did a mock-up seat out of some blue foam the considerable width throws the whole thing out of proportion. I thought the current solution was the...

Thanks NeeksRR. My powdercoater charged me $30 per rim for powder. They're not the stock rims so I don't know about the chrome. I bought a pair of alloy rims from MikesXS and they're amazing. They were nicely polished so my powdercoater had to media blast them a bit to get some tooth to the...
