Got a new Shinko put on the front of my GS850. Non tube tire, we used a tube since that's what the bike had originally and the mag was built for it.
Took it for a short spin today and there was a BAD wobble at any speed (didn't take it above 35). Took it home immediately and parked it. The guy...
Happy Winter.
Hoop is going to wait, for the while unfortunately. It's the Dime City Cycle seat, decided my skateboard vinyl thing just made the bike look like ass.
Here she is as i'm currently putting miles on her. A few months back I put some brand new Honda hand controls on, and it worked...
Looking to add a neutral and an oil pressure light to my bike and am going to use the screw type LED's. I'm looking for a nice piece I can use to house two bulbs. Some people have some beautiful custom setups but I know if I go that route it won't look right. Can anyone point me in the right...
Was having insanely high RPM's, turned out to be my throttle cable routing. I pulled the tank, disconnected the cable and manually fed the bike gas which fixed the problem. I then re installed the throttle following the proper routing, still manually feeding gas and the bike worked flawlessly...
Alright so issue was solved, a little bit of a different method for my madness.
I completely stripped out my electrical system, including getting rid of my turn signal control unit (which is in addition to the relay) which controls the distance calculator and a few other things I didn't need...
Well I had one hell of a weekend. I decided Monday I had a shot to get this bike done and ridable by the Distinguished Gentlemen's Ride today.
Lets see if I can recall everything that went down:
-Picked up turn signals and a stop light, welded up a bracket for the license plate
-Changed rear...
Fronts are installed, but not the rears. Worth a shot adding them to the circuit and seeing if it requires a certain amount of draw.
It definitely does have a canceling unit but I went through the entire harness and removed everything I could. It also has a distance cancel (ya... right?) that...
1981 suzuki gs850. Bought this bike in pieces, putting the last finishing touches to make it legal. I wired up the turn signals and as soon as I switched the turn signal switch I got a loud buzz, no flashing just a solid dim light.
I suspected a grond issue so I replaced the ground with a...
Progress was slow but things are picking up.
Have officially replaced all the gaskets. Electrical is nearly 100% taken care of. Finally got a headlight on and low and behold rode the gal around the block.
Biggest hurdle was getting the oem throttle cable to work with my aftermarket metal...
Compression is good. Tested a bit ago, each cylinder was within <10% of each other.
Internals are all stock, modified jets in carbs with aftermarket exhaust and pod filters. No airbox and the breather on top of the motor has no hose on it currently.
