*crickets* ;) I've been at a standstill, for multiple reasons, but hoping to get into things this weekend. Trying to decide if I should have it,take a leap and try welding the seat fram from myself OR if I should give in and let my husband do it, so it looks good. HAH! I do have a few more...

Nope, not hard tailed, yet. But that's his plan for it, to make it a bobber. My husbands mom has a cottage out near your neck of the woods, in coldwater. We'll have to stop in the shop sometime.

Very cool! :D I definitely want to check this event out. YEP 1965 A65 BSA lightning. Looks goofy at the moment with a sportster tank, chopper looking thing with massive ape hangers. He mainly bought it for the frame, motor and girder forks. He's got some pretty sweet plans for it. As far as...

Hey CharlieT, I didn't realize my thread was so interesting. LOL!! Yep, just a few miles outside of Detroit. I am completely new to all of this, so haven't been involved in the scene at all. I will have to check that out. My husband and I are working on this project as a team. learning as I...

Making a custom seat pan to fit is next, so yes it will conform. Then we're redoing the shock mounts. Making a custom electrical box for beneath the seat as well. Still lots to do.

Seat progress. Really liking the way it's turning out. Time to brush up on my tig welding skills :-\

I got the 3 1/2"-18. I like the look of a fat tire in the back with a skinnier one up front, but not for this type of build, like you said on a bobber it looks pretty kick ass. I am not sure yet on what I want to do for color. My tanks has some dings, so repaint on that is inevitable. I have...

Cool! Thanks! We're probably going to buy a die anyway. We build custom bicycles, bicycle forks and handle bars. Thinking we can use it possibly for that. Plus we also have the steel laying around for it. But, I think this gives me the info I need to know anyway. And in the event I discover...

Thanks! And I'll be the first to admit when I do. Fuck up #1: leaving the nuts on my inner tube air valve and installing my tire, thinking the were missing. Doh!!! :-[ now I have to remove. Just happy I realized that before getting it on the road and it's only on one. Battle of the tire again...

Back to my seat frame. Anyone know what radius tube bender die I'd need, using and modifying the exiting frame. Wishing I knew how to use cad right about now ;)
