Yamaha SR250TH Exciter - Newbie Resto- (Mod?)

Figured as much, although, I think it will be a job to look at once I can get it running, I'm in MN, which looks to be approx 1,400 feet above sea level. So... I'm sure that re-jetting is now on the list, once the basics are covered.

Yamaha SR250TH Exciter - Newbie Resto- (Mod?)

Re: Yamaha SR250TH Exciter - Newbie Resto Update Time! So, I bought this beauty off of Craigslist for $100, with no idea of what I was getting myself into. My intention is just to get the bike running well first, then fix all the cosmetic stuff later. I first removed the headlight to in turn...

Re: Yamaha SR250TH Exciter - Newbie Resto Thanks Knuckles! Just your list is extremely helpful! I need to give you guys a major update, as I have already done some of work, and I want to show off my progress! I have spend so much time reading and was even able to find a new(used) tank thanks...

Aftermarket Brake Levers - Front Brake Switch Alternative

Hey All, I bought the following Lever Set from DCC , and whilst installing them, I realized that I effectively eliminated the Brake Light Switch for my front brake. I found what I think could work to replace it, as there is nowhere on the perch to include what would have been a stock switch for...

    SR250 Cafe build

How much would you want for it, plus shipping of course! I'm interested if it's (relatively) clean inside, I can always refinish the outside! I've got less than zero welding skills, and I would love to find something stock!

    Greetings & Salutations From Minneapolis

Very Nice! I'd kill for mine to look that nice when it's done! First hurdle is to find a new tank! Mine was rusted through in a bunch of spots :(

    SR250 Cafe build

Any chance that you still have your stock tank and are willing to sell? I've been looking for that tank forever! If not, that's still a sweet looking ride!

Yamaha SR250TH Exciter - Newbie Resto- (Mod?)

I just bought this bike this past weekend, it's a Yamaha 81' SR250TH. Everything I have read says it will be a great starter bike, both for wrenching (which it will need) and riding. It's my bucket list project. I'm gonna restore as much as possible, but I don't think it will be a complete...

    Greetings & Salutations From Minneapolis

Hello All, I recently aquired an Yamaha 81' SR250 "Exciter" off craigslist for $100. It's been in the elements for a while and its definitely in rough shape, but it doesn't look like anything is missing. The only thing I know for sure is that I have no keys for it, so I'm struggling with how...
