What is the ratio of the speedometer you bought?

    Speedometer ratio

Isn't the 2240:60 pretty much standard for Japanese bikes in general? I just don't want to drop 100 bucks on a speedo to find its not accurate.

    Speedometer ratio

Does anyone know what the speedometer ratio is for a 1980 Yamaha SR250? I can't seem to find it anywhere. 1:1, 2:1, 2240:60 I'm leaning towards the 2240:60 IDEAS?

Yes it will stay just like that. I may cover some of it with seat material but I haven't decided yet. I'm going to a fairly raw look. Anything black will get sandblasted and powder coated flat or satin black. The rest will be sandblasted raw metal with a clear powder coat. I'm thinking about...

The last 4 are pictures of the tank done, new handle bars, the exhaust done, and the headlight installed.

The next 4 pictures are of the custom tanks for it and the profile I'm trying to get at.

Hello everyone. I'm not really new to the forum but new to posting. I've been watching it for a long time now. There are some pretty sweet projects going on in here. I was bitten by the cafe bug a few years back but money has always been my stopping point, until I found a friend that had an old...

What about using a rear from a 750 then? wouldn't they still be the same dimensions? I'm assuming the front forks would still be the same right?

"Finally had it warm up enough around here to venture out to the garage and get the 3.5" lowered forks and front conversion on my bike. Also had the rear wheel off for painting and put it back on. Been cleaning/polishing and painting stuff too." What is this conversion kit you speak of? ;)

Of course I thought of one more. If staying with the stock forks. What has anyone done about the extra few inches sticking above the handle bars when lowering the front end?

That info is awesome! Pretty much answered all my questions for a different front end. Cafe-XV750 can you still take orders for a rear to front wheel kit? not anytime soon but maybe is a couple months?

Ok sorry for the really long post but i found another forum that has the steering stem sizes listed. I'm just copy and pasting it on here for everyone to take a look. If its too long I can try and remove the post. PDF available curtosey of Ohio Cafe Racers. Download a copy for yourself at...

Anyone know what the diameter of the fork tubes are? are they all different between models?

For me i think safety is a big one. I remember bringing the 500 up to about 90mph and the steering started to wobble a lot. Kinda freaked me out so when i got back i checked over the whole front end and couldn't really find anything that would have caused it. The only thing i could have thought...
