Polished Tank - Clear Coat Advice.

Thanks. I'll look into the POR-15 and Eastwood offerings. I talked to the powder coat folks, they didn't recommend clear powder coat. Something about it turning yellowish (not being UV stable) and not being good with any drops of fuel on the outside of the tank. Thanks again!

Polished Tank - Clear Coat Advice.

I'm restoring (cafe style..) a '74 Triumph T100R. I stripped the paint off the old tank, side cover and oil tank. I want to polish the three and then clear coat. (I would like the underside of the tank and insides of the side cover and oil tank to be black.) Here is a link to a picture of...

TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IM MISSING

I took some pictures of the dust cover, head nut, installed. I also took a picture of the top race on the old frame so you can see if it is the same as what you've got. There are bearings that go in the upper race. The inner race on the inside of the dust cover hold the bearings in place. There...

TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IM MISSING

I'm restoring a '74 T100R Daytona. On my bike there is a "Top Cone and Dust Cover" (Part number: 97-1018, in my parts book) that goes on top of the tube, under the top triple clamp. Look up the part online to see what it looks like. Let me know if that is what is missing. I might have an extra...

    Building in Seattle

Hi, Thanks! The Scrambler is all stock with the exception of the flat bars that were put on it. The guy I bought it from gave me the original bars, so I've got 'em. It hasn't been cut, beat up, modified, or otherwise hacked. There is part of me that just wants to return it to complete stock...

    Building in Seattle

Hello! I've been riding since 1980. I started in 7th grade after rebuilding a junked Suzuki TM80. Currently I commute on an '06 KLR650. I took a trip on it in August from Seattle to the Arctic Ocean and back. Best 3 weeks ever! (I grew up in Anchorage and now live in Seattle.) I'm currently...
