Yes, Brad. I'll be seeing him soon enough to weld a muffler on his daily.
Thearcticsea-
I understand. I Just happen to like the guy and know that he's working to improve.
You sir make some valid deductions but some awful conclusions.
Rocan does have a lot of dreams. He is learning focus. How else is he supposed to learn except by doing, making mistakes, pulling his britches up and trying again?
Pay someone else to build things? GTFO. I only got involved...
As far as I'm concerned, school and having a decent daily are good excuses. I'm in the middle of getting a car on the road that hasn't been driven since '06 because my formerly current daily popped a head gasket and the best way to fix that is swap in a (bigger displacement) later model engine...
He's been busy with school, work and getting his daily straight. I've been busy working a crapton of hours. I think all he needs to run the bike is a tank and to finish the body. Then put it together.
Well, I would if he were being lazy, but he's been busy with work and school and keeping his daily running. I've been busy working about 65 hours a week.
So . . . yeah. The next stage is coming, though: Fuel tank!
Re: 1970 Honda CB450 K3 - Tentatively named "Grey Ghost" Build
That looks a heck of a lot cleaner
I've never used a needle scaler to remove paint before, only to remove slag and spatter when stick welding. I'm surprised it worked well on the paint.
A. We couldn't drill the plate out enough with available equipment.
B. No machine shop locally would touch a job as simple as drilling/boring 2 holes in the flat stock.
C. It will be fine. If not, I'll weld the two halves together and call it a day.
*shrugs* I've seen a lot worse sealing...
Are you familiar with how the stock header is clamped to the head? The collars provide a platform for the clasps (made from stainless bar stock) to hold the header in place with the stock studs.
Dave is going to take care of the finish on the pipes. I think he will polish them, to live up to...
This thread gets more complaints that progress isn't being made then actually commenting on the progress that has been made.
WTF!
The header is the second to last major fab work (on my end) to be done. Most of the rest of it is up to Dave in prep for the fuel tank setup.
*shakes head*
You...
Please don't. If you are going to try, at least just scroll through for the pics . . . There are some nice ones. You can slow down and read when I start posting, though, since I actually did work in the past year. LOL!
We do know this. I will eventually be making a turbo manifold. ;) He's...
Nope. I don't know how to. I don't really want to. I just like welding headers and making custom doohickies. I've never owned a bike, nor likely will, but I sure like working on them!
I totally want this to go down!
That's not gonna happen. LOL!
