Gouging the cylinder head - salvageable? Cam question as well

the head looks like it should seal with a composite gasket, those cams however, are toast.

New popular tire choices CB's, Conti classic attack, avon road riders discontinued?

I saw this at handbuilt 2019, it was understated but all very well put together, it's nice to see work like that

    CB350 ground up build

check out "desert hybrids", I got the plans there, there are some things I would change, like increasing the crankshaft diameter (it flexes too much when thumbnail shrinking). but otherwise it's a good set of plans to start from.

    CB350 ground up build

some fun progress, I've finished the remaining bent tube parts for the frame, I had to do some multi angle copes on the engine mount tubes, so I 3d printed some "jigs" to hold the tube down at the right angle and hole saw it on the bridgeport, test fitting with the crankcase proved they work...

    CB350 ground up build

started putting the frames together, doing 3 at a time certainly saves time in cutting the metal up, not in welding, but it's still a good idea I think. The frame basically aligns itself, so no actual jigs are required, just have to maintain the tight fit of the swingarm bearing tube and...

and omg lol I just realized I clamped the fender to the upper part of the fork leg, that would be funny to actually build it not realizing the wheel would hit the obviously not moving fender

    CB350 ground up build

here's a bit better rendering, I've continued to detail the assembly and fill in some of the tiny little things like how the headlight mounts, finished designing the tree clamps, etc, there's a lot of time put into pulling part numbers from mcmaster and inserting things like screws, bearings...

    CB350 ground up build

nothing too eye catching to show lately, but I finished the frame design 100% including detailing all threaded inserts, tabs, etc etc. so I started machining the actual parts for them, just lots of accumulating pieces, then putting everything together. What I am hopeful about with the designing...

    Question about a Works Shock.

could be that for some crazy reason, the shock needs to be completely disassembled to refill the fluid if the system is exposed to air, you'd think you would be able to reattach the line and reservoir and bleed the air from the system by pumping the shock, but... who knows.

    Ton up SR250: 100mph, 100kg, 30hp

I have some tech that you might be interested in. think of tooling costs as about 1/10 of that. per unit will be higher but still offer a great margin if you price the tanks properly. the cb350 tank on my build thread was done using my tooling tech.

I like what you did with the alloy fenders, have you thought about offering an alloy tank for sale too?

    CB350 ground up build

Started and finished swingarms today, machined the parts and bent the arms yesterday, but it didn't really take the whole day, so maybe 10 hours into 3 completed arms. Not bad, the goal here is to streamline the build process by A: building a series of basically the same bike and B: using tech...
