    1978 suzuki gs550e mods

I don't think they make a bolt on pan for the 550. There is a sweet dual disc/dual piston swap that rules over on the gsresources but it's expensive if you don't have a dual disc. As for the exhaust, I think the mac is the only one still in production. You need to try to find a used one like...

    Having some brake trouble

Running a single line is better I think. That's what I'm doing.

Re: GS550E cafe style project Oh I see, I was just doing an "I love you man" reference. haha. That's cool man, I use to play in a band but now I just play for a bible study I do in the summer. It's really fun.

Where are all the Brit bikes?

Very fond of British motorcycles, but that being said.. when I do get the money I'm going to have to get a Ducati. Always had a really big place in my heart. Love them.

Yeah, I caved in and bought some snap ring pliers. I'll see if the mc is reusable and rebuild it. I'll post some pics soon hopefully!

1978 Suzuki GS550 (nameless for now...)

It's like a thick layer of crud. I actually flaked off a bit of it but right now I'm focusing on building my brakes up a bit. I am doing a really cool dual piston conversion, and building my own steel brake line. The only problem is I can't get the dang snap ring out of the mc. I don't want to...

Re: GS550E cafe style project How much do you think you'd let it go for? Is it rusted or is that black paint peeling?

1978 Suzuki GS550 (nameless for now...)

Thanks! Yeah I am interested to see what I can do too. I have limited tools, so I have to buy some. My sister is really good with sewing, so I'm going to have her cover it out of leather or vinyl and i'm just going to use the stock hinges to attach it. The tank actually isn't rusted that much...

I want neutral and turn signals but don't really want gear position. Is there anything I can do? To conceal it? Yeah, the tank is disgusting. The guy said someone tried to carpet it? I kind of feel like buying one online. I don't know if I can get that stuff off that well.

Re: GS550E cafe style project Sweet bike man, I'm also doing a cafe GS550. How does that exhaust sound? I've seen one on youtube and it sounds beautiful. I just can't seem to find it anywhere. Only the mac 4 into ones. Anyways, good luck with the suzy!
