ended up having to crack open the case.. kick start mechanism was installed reversed inside the casing... I broke down and took it to the shop...urrr

has anyone experienced a grinding noise from kick start... from the gears that are inside the motor ? I took the side cover off but everything appears to be ok with kick start? i'm assuming my only option is to pull apart the engine? any thoughts?

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestion for sizes for sprokets. Looking for a ration that would give me some solid top speed and good acceration. I was going to replace both front, back, and chain... Any suggestion would be much appreciated. Thanks!
