    Kawasaki Zephyr

Right then, had a bit of time over the weekend to have a proper look. I had dropped a bit of oil into the cylinders a week or so ago to try and free things up cos i was worried about seized pistons. Wanted to see what kind of state the engine was in so I took the tank and spark plugs out and...

Spoke to my local kawasaki dealer, the frame and engine number say its a zr400 c1 which was a japanese import. Same engine (apparently) as used on the zxr400 so should be fairly easy to get replacement parts for it, going to give it a proper once over this weekend to see what is needed. No...

    Kawasaki Zephyr

Hello All, Been a while since I last posted, sold the old bike and started my own business so have been a bit busy. Anyway, picked up a new project today. Got it very cheap so figured it was worth a punt, only problem is that it was a barn find so the owner didn't have much information on it...

Honda VFR750F cafe racer - slow burner...

Thanks, Sometimes I worry that I've bitten off more than I can chew as my last build was a straight forward re-style of a cg125, but I've got my trusty Haynes manual so nothing can stop me!

Honda VFR750F cafe racer - slow burner...

So, I've been thinking about how to do the rear sub-frame. I'll need to get something fabricated as I don't have access to the proper tools to do it myself. The first step is to get a good idea of how I want it to look. my first thought was something along these lines: but I also looked at...

I don't mind the wings too much, the bottom mount for the rear sub frame attaches to the end of it so I'll try and integrate it into the design. Saw this one that I liked, not really a café racer but I like the style:

Yer, that pic was more about showing the seat and swing-arm arrangement and poorly explained by me. The aim is something a bit more like this:

Finally had a bit of time to start on the bike, just the strip down at the moment but it's giving me a better idea of what is underneath all of the plastic: There's a lot more stuff under there than on the old CG125 I had, I thinking that I'll need to revise my plans on how much I can strip back.

I need to sit down and have a proper think over the direction I want to go with it, but I was thinking about something along these lines: Not sure I'll be able to strip as much bulk from the machine as this, but it's definitely the way I want to go.

Honda VFR750F cafe racer - slow burner...

Bought this the other day, its a bit of a wrecker but I already love it! Just about runs at the moment, although its running very rich and will barely tick-over so it's ripe for a re-build. It'll be my commuter for the next few weeks until I get my new bike, then it'll go into the shed and...

    '01 Honda CG125 cafe racer

Just picked these up: Only cost £50 for the lot. Not a big fan of the wheels, but I'll use the front wheel until I can source a wire spoked wheel that'll fit. I want to get slightly wider rims in general to beef the look of the bike a bit, but it may be too much of a ball ache. I'm about...

    ebay find

If only I had the space to store it! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161639441521?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT It's definitely given me some inspiration for my next project.

    lexmoto xtr125 parts

Has anyone had any experience of lexmoto stuff? I'm assuming it isn't brilliant quality, but I've found a seemingly amazing deal on a set of usd forks, disc brake and wheel that I'm looking at putting onto my cg125. I'm obviously not after moto gp level performance, but I don't want to go to...
