Getting a KZ440 LTD running and starting on some work

Okay, I didn't do anything to it in the past year, I also didn't get riding often enough as a consequence starting it up those times I could get on the road was a royal pain. I have to recharge the battery, again. and probably drain off all of the gas and get some usable blood in there. I was...

Getting a KZ440 LTD running and starting on some work

New battery, point and adjusted the ignition timing. It roars. I'm getting a new set of carb boots and need to rig an air filter element. Bobdot should have the new rear wheel mounted this week hopefully, then we can stick on anew chain and she should be good to go. The only thing I'm waiting on...

Dupli Color Laquer a good Choice?

OpTiCz, Yes that's the stuff I was using. The color was good, but I think a different top coat would have been better.

Dupli Color Laquer a good Choice?

I used three coats of duplicolor white laquer, and two coats of clear duplicolor laquer over duplocolor primer on my fixie bicycle, and that scratched fairly easily. I'd think if you've been using a two part urethane that is going to hold up much better and when I paint my real bike I plan on...

    '72 CB350 K4 - 'ol no.7 - Swingarm progress

I do have a forge at my parents place that might be able to (or be modified to) take the whole axle length for the heat treat. I think that's much more in line with the home brew axle/bearing/swingarm you got going on. Plus saves $$$ That is if you're down for more epic dicking around.

    '72 CB350 K4 - 'ol no.7 - Swingarm progress

The hardening goes like this, using a piece of high carbon steel (must have higher than a certain percentage of carbon or it will not harden) after machining you heat it up until its a little above cherry colored, this is in the 1400 F range, it will lose it's magnetic property. Then you perform...

If I recall correctly I think he got it from McMaster-Carr. We still have to machine and harden it, so that's still in the works.

What is the Steel City Mods an d Rockers? I'm pretty new to the bike world so I'm a touch lost in the culture aside from Bob's lovely abode.

Getting a KZ440 LTD running and starting on some work

Today was a major victory! Bobdot and I got it running, looks like it was the ignition point not gaping. We also adjusted the timing. I need a new ignition point as we're out of the adjustability currently, bobdot filed the slot a little longer to move it into the correct clearance. We also...

I got the new seat cover on last night, it looks way better and will help it sell when it comes time to build the new seat and ditch the stock one.

    FFJMOORE Big Blue Engine rebuild

Re: FFJMOORE 74 CB125 Lola 12 VOLTS! I took a manufacturers tour of the Emeco plant two years ago, some of the coolest stuff I'd ever seen in there fab wise, and a lot of really skilled workers. If you're ever around their place check it out.
