I have a 71 CL frame in pretty good shape, very straight with a title. Let me know if you are interested. I ended up using the engine in another bike, so I don't have any use for the frame now.
I ordered new after-market piston rings for my CL175, but I can't tell what order to put them in. I assume the "N" stamed on them gos towards the top of the piston, but does the black ring go at the top or does the silver ring?
I will post some pics tonight.
The more I looked at it, the less I thought it needed boring. I took it to a local shop and the mechanic said it need boring over after a very quick visual inspection. I am not convinced though.
After I post the pics tonight, y'all can let know what you think.
I am rebuilding the engine on a 71 CL175 and have the pistons out of the cylinders out. There is some scoring on the inside one of the cylinders(due to a bad gasket and dirt getting into the engine). It seems like some honing would remove the scoring, but then should I use .25mm over rings, or...
