http://www.dimecitycycles.com/vintage-cafe-racer-caferacer-bobber-brat-chopper-custom-motorcycle-exhaust-parts-17-inch-reverse-cone-megaphone-muffler-80-84030.html Bought this and ended up going with a muffler made at a local shop. As far as trades go I'm on the lookout for a fairing for a 7"...

    Charging issues, CB550

Sonrier/mydlyfkryzis: I have checked continuity on the alternator as well as for AC output, both came up good. Out of frustration and looking for answers I decided to hook up my old rectifier and regulator and got some interesting results. With the OEM parts, I am now overcharging (took it up...

    Charging issues, CB550

Copy that. Well, I've tried all possible combinations that make sense to try. Running out of ideas. Does the location of my main battery ground matter? Sonreir: Which green in the R/R should my green from the alternator go to? The one in the rectifier bunch, or the individual regulator green? I've got conflicting info on this.

    Charging issues, CB550

I won't be able to be back at the garage until Friday. BUT... I currently have the green wire from the alternator grounded to the frame. Which green from the reg/rec should it be connected to? I'd guess the one grouped with the rectifier wires?

    Charging issues, CB550

Hopefully I've just done a poor job explaining. The reg/rec I got from Rick's has: Three yellows, a red, and a green grouped together, as well as a white, black, and a green (what I presumed to be the regulator portion of the unit). Edited original post to reflect more accurately.

    Charging issues, CB550

Howdy, Getting real close on my CB550 build and I've got one issue that I can't seem to get to the bottom of. I cannot for the life of me get the charging system working. I've completely rewired the bike, loosely following the hondachopper diagram and am using a Rick's Motorsports Reg/Rec...
