    79 GS 750

This thing is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to mint to justify cutting up. Sent from my LG-D852 using Tapatalk

My daily ride - Lets see yours

God I love stories like this! I'm only 18 years old and I'm obsessed with these older bikes, especially when they carry such an influential history. I bought the bike off of the original owner in the fall for $250 and just finished making it road worth again. Got it plated and took it for its...

    1982 Yamaha XJ550R Seca Resto-Mod

Mounted up the emgo shorty mufflers, really unleashes the sound of the I-4. Heres a video with a few revs. https://youtu.be/P4aSZDTjMOE

    1982 Yamaha XJ550R Seca Resto-Mod

Thanks! That's to bad about the pics, I'd love to see your work on the Seca II. I agree, I'll most likely have to increase the pilot jets one size and shim the needle up to ensure that its not running lean down low and in the mid range. I intend on keeping the stock airbox so I think the main...

    1982 Yamaha XJ550R Seca Resto-Mod

First thing I did was take the carbs apart and give them a thorough cleaning. To my surprise the bike started almost instantaneously after sitting for so many years. I think I like these XJ engines! Albeit it was only running on two cylinders, apparently I didn't clean the carbs as well as I...

    1982 Yamaha XJ550R Seca Resto-Mod

I picked up a 550 Seca from the original owner recently for a stupidly cheap price of $250. It was parked in the owners garage in 1993 and hadn't been started since. The bike has 48 000km on it. Cosmetically its in good shape, but there is a lot of maintenance that needs to be done in order...

You don't happen to have the original seat to this bike do you?

    1977 GS 750 Project Bratstyle

From what I've heard clubman handles are uncomfortable and often hit the tank on full lock. I have "superbike" bars and my gs650 and they are functional and look good in my opinion.

83 Suzuki GS650 Shafty - Better Late Than Never

That would look great. Only issue I see with using screws instead of rivets could be that the vinyl/leather may rip on the sharp edges of the screw when you pull it tight. Also when you go to tighten the screw it'll probably grip the material and twist it as you tighten. Hard to say without...

83 Suzuki GS650 Shafty - Better Late Than Never

Looks good! That should work nicely for you. What are you going to use for the seat pan? Sheet metal or the skate board deck method?

83 Suzuki GS650 Shafty - Better Late Than Never

I see, I'm sure once you hear it screaming on all 4 you'll forgot about the price. The original mufflers and mid pipe were rotted out on mine so I cut it off and welded on some shorty mufflers, the end result sounds great and looks pretty good too. Try to keep your motivation high, you're off...

No kidding! Still holds it's own against the big blocks though. Are you running a 4-1 pipe on yours?

Loving the progress so far! This is going to be one heck of a GS when you are done with it! I also have an 83 GS650, I've refrained from modify the frame in any way but I may get around to it someday. I'm looking forward to seeing the bike progress.

    1985 Kawasaki ZX600 (GPZ600R)

Thank you, yeah it seems like the common form of performance upgrade for this bike. However the pod filters that are on it currently are to wide and it's real pain to get them on the the carbs because they hit one another. I have a small order of parts coming in today: New rear tire...

    1985 Kawasaki ZX600 (GPZ600R)

Hey Folks, This will be my first build thread on this forum. I'm currently in my last year of highschool and I picked up my fourth bike/project 2 weeks ago. It's a 1985 Kawasaki ZX600 with 58'000km. Milage is a bit high but I'm not going to let it scare me. Only paid $300 for it and it ran...

    Suzuki GS650 Cross Over Pipe

Will do! That will be a much easier fabrication than making my own cross over. The stock mufflers were basically rotting away in my hands so I'll have to get some different cans as well. Thank you for the advice!
