    Pamco ignition + kickstart

Anyone running electronic ignition? Specifically the Pamco unit with E-advancer? Have you found that it is damn near impossible to kick start the bike when engine is cold? I’m thinking the kickstarter just doesn’t crank out enough juice when the Pamco is installed? Anyone else experiencing this?

Swap in 069a carbs, ditch PD carbs?

I came up on a fairly clean rack of 069A carbs, and wondering if it’s worth it to throw them on my 77 550K (which has the PD carbs). The 550 has an open 4 into 1 exhaust and pods (no airbox when I got her), and from my understanding the 069A carbs can create more power and/or are easier to dial...

    CB550 dual disc upgrade help

1977 CB550K (K3) It currently has the single left side caliper. I wanted to just bolt on the other side caliper since the fork leg has the mounting holes already, but wondering... Are the calipers and brackets interchangeable from left/right side?? I couldn’t find a right-sided caliper on eBay...

    Cb450 Mikuni fuel lines

Finally decided to bite the bullet and throw some Mikuni VM32’s on my 72 CB450. Do the Mikuni carbs require bigger fuel lines? Stock is 5.5mm, but is there any advantage to putting 6mm lines on with the Mikuni carbs? More fuel flowing to them?

    CB450 fork rebuild... Advice?

1972 CB450. The fork is leaking fluid, so going to replace the seals, along with the fluid. I read somewhere that it also helps to stack some washers on top of the springs when putting it back together as a way to stiffen up the spring rate a bit... Wondering if anyone else has experience...

    Starter Clutch rebuild (CB450)

So my starter clutch finally took a major dump... It now sounds like it’s just spinning, not catching at all, with occasional marbles bouncing around inside. I ordered a rebuild kit and wondering if anyone had a link to a rebuild procedure or any tips to get this accomplished?

    Carb retrofit onto CB450??

Just got a rack of these Mikuni VM32 carbs (from a 83 GS750) Does anyone know what it will take to take two of them and install into a 72 CB450? Do I need a custom intake manifold? Special throttle cables? Thank you in advance for any insights!

36 spoke rim swap to CB450

Is it safe? Do those four extra spokes provide necessary strength or can I get away with 36 spokes on the rear of a CB450? (Keeping 40 spokes on the front).

Fuse pops when headlight turned on (CB450)

1972 CB450 I just installed a lithium battery and organized everything into a custom electronics tray... Now, the fuse pops as soon as I flip the headlight switch. I’ve checked for pinched wires. Even when the wires are all loose and not packed, still pops. Anything I’m missing? Are...

    CL175 electrical mystery

CL175 won’t start after sitting a while. Horn works fine, but when I turn on the headlight... it’s like something shorts out and the power to the system dies. Horn work work anymore, green neatrual light is off. I disconnect/reconnect the battery, wait a few moments and the electrical works...

    CB550F Oil leak?

Thinking of taking ownership of this CB550... but, it’s been sitting and not ran since 2016! Can head gaskets or O-rings develop leaks just from sitting? Does this look like a head gasket leak?

    CL175 electrical issue

So I got my hands on this CL175 from a neighbor who had it in his garage for like 5 years. I replaced the coil, plugs, wires, condenser, rebuilt the carbs... Got it running great. Then unfortunately didn’t touch it for about six months while life happened, and focused on other bikes with any...

    Is this safe?

CB500T I noticed on this build that the rear shock is not mounted directly to the swing arm mount like its suppose to, but somehow mounted to part of the hub? Or the mounting bolt for the rear brake? Is this ok to do? (Aside from lowering the bike and potentially bottoming out) Is this safe...

    Honda fork flip

So Honda forks in the 70’s for some reason had the calipers leading in front of the fork legs, but virtually every other motorcycle has the calipers located behind the fork legs. I was doing some research about this and it seems that if the caliper is located behind the fork leg, this may...

    CB550F reliability

Wondering if anyone who has a CB550F as a daily driver could chime in on how reliable they are when dialed in? Is it a safe choice for a daily driver vs a CB450 / CB400F? Is the maintenance more of a headache compared to the other two? How much more cumbersome is it to deal with two extra...

    (CB550) 022A vs PD46 carburetors... thoughts?

Wondering what the consensus is on the PD46 carburetors that came on the 77-78 CB550 vs. the O22A carbs that came on the earlier models. I’ve read mixed feedback... Some say that the newer design PD46 are more difficult to tune/sync? Some say that the O22A are more problematic. What do you...

1972 CB450 My front brake needs an overhaul... Getting SS lines and rebuilding the caliper with a SS piston. Master cylinder options: Option 1) Rebuild the stock master cylinder (Genuine Honda rebuild kit is $49). Option 2) Buy entirely new universal-fit master cylinder from eBay...
