Honda CB500T Build (First time builder)

Just wanted to post an update... I tore my bike down over the winter and rebuilt the engine (once again). I also heightened the rear shocks (to get better clearance in the rear end). Changed out the taillight and signal lights as well. Here are a few pics... I'm happy to be back riding it...

Sounds great! I'm going to PM you my phone number and you can text me when you want to compare notes or rides...

    Check in!

You say you're an hour south as well... Where you from down in the country? I'm from Monticello and work in Macon, so I end up all over the central GA area. Maybe we could meet up and ride sometime.

    Check in!

Just reading over your build as well. I like what you've done with it, and it looks like you're well on the way to a sweet bike. I took my CB500T out riding today and it did very well. I have a couple little issues with it, but nothing that's going to keep me off the road. I'll probably let my...

    Check in!

Shoot... I'd like to wish there was a vintage Honda (or any Japanese bike, for that matter) scene on the southside. I'm actually about an hour south of downtown, so I'm well OTP. But if there were ever weekend rides for vintage bikes I would love to join up. I just finally finished my "over the...

    Check in!

Hey man, I know it's been a minute since you posted this, but I'm on the southside of Atlanta, and I have a CB500T that I have built into a cafe/brat bike. I'm working on a CB400 now with the hopes of more of a street tracker/urban tracker look.

Honda CB 400 Hawk T II (1978) Cafe Racer

Thanks for the compliment on my 500T... I'm actually doing more work on it this winter so I have it completely torn apart at the moment. I'll probably do another build post on it, and I'll definitely do a build post on my Hawk as soon as I have enough progress and pictures to make it worth it...

Honda CB500T Build (First time builder)

I've hard tailed it since that point. But thanks for your open (if brash) advise. :)

1978 Honda CB400 Hawk II Original Exhaust

I have the original exhaust and cross-over chamber from my 1978 Honda CB400 Hawk II. It has slight rust, but no holes and could easily be restored to working order. I'm posting this to see if there is any interest. If there is, I'll be happy to take a picture. Anybody at all interested in...

Would like some feedback on my gs750 plans :)

I think the look is actually very appealing. I like that banged up/stripped down look. 8) I will say that I believe you would have to do some pretty extensive frame work and getting that tank to sit straight on the bike like that would probably require some serious adjustment. But that's just...

    College Kid Cafe Racer Build

Dude... I really hate that for you! And paying $450 for that bike when the PO likely knew it was messed up was just wrong. I have a running CB400T (was running a month ago before I started stripping it down for a build) that I would have happily moved your way for $450! I have to agree with...

    TC 100 project

Hey, I'm just now seeing this build. Looks like a really fun little bike and a good looking build! Love the upholstery work...

    1972 CB350 Cafe Racer

Re: 1972 CB350 Resto-Mod Someone once said "slow and steady wins the race" or something like that... :D I'm going to keep up with your build and looking forward to seeing your vision for this bike. Good luck!

CB350 Built by a teen (Weld Now, Grind Later)

Haha... This poor old dead horse is getting one last kick? I started restoring a 1966 Ford Mustang when I was 17. Stuck at it good for a couple years then just ran out of steam. I hate that this one got so close and never made it though...

    help needed computer illiterate here

Don't get me wrong, I like Linux just as much as the next tech guy... I just didn't think that dropping a new OS on him was the answer to his question. 8)

    help needed computer illiterate here

He says he's computer illiterate and y'all are recommending Ubuntu and Linux?! Seriously, y'all are just being cruel now. ??? That original password is stored in the CMOS settings of your machine, which can be accessed immediately after booting the machine. The problem is, your second screen...

Honda CB 400 Hawk T II (1978) Cafe Racer

Hey, I have a 78 Honda CB400 Hawk T II that I'm working on currently as well! I really don't like the look of the frame, but I'm working around it and trying to make something of it. What are your plans for a seat? Also, nice paint work on the frame and comstar wheels. I'm trying to decide...

New winter project pictures! - 1970 CL350 scrambler tracker

Ok, I'm in for the ride... I love a good scrambler, especially with the original pipes. Were they in good shape? I'll be watching your build.

1980 CB750 Cafe Build (First one)

Did you do any work on the carbs while you were fixing it up? The problem that you're describing sounds just a bit like carb floats that are set too low. So you're running out of fuel when your engine needs it.

** PICS OF MEMBERS RIDES ** - Official Before & After Thread

dwejantim, if your post was in reference to my bike, the paint is high temp paint and the color was "cast iron". I loved the paint on the motor when I was building the motor up, but since I've put it in the bike, I'm not entirely sure it matches the color scheme of the bike as a whole. What are...
