I tried again with just the meter attached to the AC wires going to the rec/reg unit and and I still get no amp reading at idle or rev. I am still reading AC voltage of 60+ AC volts at 4000 rpm's.

Could do that but I'm thinking it's pretty conclusive I'm loosing amps since it does not blow the bulb when it should be. How many amps is not as important as why am I'm loosing them..........

OK, my conclusion, the magnet on the rotor of my charging system is weak. The system shows correct voltage without a load but something breaks down under load. Question> Could a weak magnet on the rotor show good current and break down under load?
