Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that I got a little side project. It's a 1988 Piaggio Si moped I'm restoring. It's supposed to be a quick fix. Planning on painting it black with a light brown leather seat and bring back the chrome to all the little shiny parts.

Ok so I found out what the problem was with the gap. The old o-rings were so dry that I didn't even notice them on the cylinders and I put the new ones on the old ones. So tomorrow I'll put it all back together.
Now, I just have to figure out what to do with the one screw hole that's threads...
Reassembly!!!
So I started reassembling the engine. I put the new pistons (65.5 mm) and made it up to the cylinder head. That's when I discovered that the right screw hole's threading is worn out.
(You can't actually see in in the picture but just to point out what hole I'm talking about)...
Ok so I thought I was insane sanding pieces of aluminum over a bucket in the living room but after seeing the final results I'm blown away and it justifies the hours I've put on them. I still have a lot of sanding left but it's good to see what you'll achieve eventually to get you going...
I've got a bit of a problem with the motor hanger. They're all rusted and I want to soak them in vinegar but they still have the rubber bushings inside of them. I started prying them out but stopped to do a little research and found out that they're impossible to obtain. So I'm basically asking...
What's the oil transfer piece modification? Btw the clutch and oil filter are apart so access isn't an issue. Also, I don't have to check any clearance with the valves etc?

I took the engine to a place that does top end rebuilds and I was told that my cylinders have rust and need to be machined. The guy there explained two options:
1. Machine the cylinders and insert sleeves to go back to factory size (64 mm).
2. Machine the cylinders and get oversize pistons...
I've got a question for you guys. Can I go without the 2 little rubber plugs in the pin that holds the lower roller of the cam chain tensioner in place?
