    for sure not the bad guy, i appreciate all feed back.. i jump on it once every two weeks at most; Now that I know it will reliably start, and can hold an idle. Different forks, especially with a disk set up would be ideal, but right now this is doing the job for a mellow run around the block...

    Hey Guys, I'm slowly rebuilding my bottom end on my 68 yamaha yr1 and I'm considering re engineering the stance(where the foot pegs are) as well as the gear selector. i tried doing a search on the site, and google to learn more- but didn't really get any good info? can you guys post pictures...

    Thanks for chiming in guys. Im in Los Angeles. I tried Ken Oconnor, his response was as follows. "I don't have the fixtures to assemble that crankshaft." the plot thickens.

    Hey guys, i have a 1968 Yamaha YR1, commonly named the grand dad to the RD series.. i need to do a bottom end rebuild and i can't find a NOS replacement crank so i guess the only solution is to get the stock one reworked. i can't find any shop willing to do so, and the only one i can find...

    Hey Guys! new here, crazy about two strokes and their rowdiness. I have yamaha YR1; pretty weird bike.. kinda obscure.. need expansion chambers and better seat, but this is how it is at the moment.
