I dread getting in my truck now, unless I am actually using it to haul something.

    Low idle

what do the plugs look like? Could be a timing issue, compression, or carb. I had a similar issue on my cb350. My float height was high in my left carb causing it to foul and die at idle. Additionally my timing was retarded as well.

    Dam A-Hole Bike Cop

I got pulled over a while ago by a bike cop because my head light was too dim. I asked the cop which was worse, dim head light or eating an apple while riding a motorcycle (like he was when we passed me). He politely suggested I think about a brighter light, and left me alone. Of course lights...

CJ360T Great find, a fun ride!...NOT SO MUCH:(

I had a similar problem with my cb350, my compression was legit, carbs were clean, tuned, and synched but i couldn't get the left cylinder to stop carbon fouling. I have a bore-tech electronic ignition so i cheched timing with a strobe rather than static and it was off a bit. I also read, and...

    Alright I'm stumped! Someone help.

my cb350 chatters. I too thought I was bad, but then i check the gaps and they were spot on. Just another quirky characteristic of these bikes.

I generally don't ask tuning questions....

Thanks a lot. I had a bad battery awhile ago that caused me to foul plugs but this new battery is fine, atleast I think. Maybe I should drop the money for a nice gel battery?

I generally don't ask tuning questions....

I have no answer, but I am in the same boat. CB 350 and all. However, this only happens on my left cylinder. I am running the mikuni VM 30's and they are jetted the same, synced, and I even started running hotter plugs (b7es). Next I am gonna check timing and compression. but i just check them...

Any swap meets coming up? I am looking for some parts here and there but really want to go check out some swaps. For one, good prices. Two, more fun than the internet.

Left cylinder fouling/popping/backfiring - all of the above

not really. I have since been running a hotter plug (B7ES in stead of the B8ES). That has solved my problem. Sort of....

    Serious F*%#ing dilemma...

I'm in a similar situation. I have a clean, well running cb350. I have been offered a cb550 and recently an BMW r60. But the r60 was hammered. I am Always afraid I'll regret the trade.

Jackass star dies at the age of 34

I agree it is sad but drunk driving is 100% preventable. Just to keep it in perspective the police have not released any info on the alcohol content, the only source stating that is TMZ, and for all we know he had one beer... I am not absolving him for poor decisions but we don't have all the facts.

Left cylinder fouling/popping/backfiring - all of the above

I am still trying to 100% identify with what size the carbs are. Unfortunately the only numbers i see stamped on the carb is G 7 and X 1. So I dont know... Where should I be looking. I want to measure the float height but I needs to know what I am measuring for. I feel stupid, so thanks for the...

Left cylinder fouling/popping/backfiring - all of the above

Re: Let cylinder fouling/popping/backfiring - all of the above So I bought the bike from a guy who rebuilt. I had my local honda/vintage mechanic run through and tune everything. I thought I was told they are the vm32's but i could have misconstrued it in my mind and they might the 30's. I cant...

Left cylinder fouling/popping/backfiring - all of the above

Re: Let cylinder fouling/popping/backfiring - all of the above Bump/Question.. Could it be the valves are loose or not sealing? And if I run a hotter plug to temporarily skirt the issue are they any negative repercussions to that?

Left cylinder fouling/popping/backfiring - all of the above

Ok so here is the situation. my 73 cb350 twin was running great, I was on my way home from work and the left cylinder (#1) stopped firing. I took it too my buddy because prior i had some issues with it stalling when coming to a stop. he adjust the carbs and got the the bike to idle at 1000 RPMS...

    Shocks from Dime City

Hey dudes, so my 350 needs new rear shocks. I was looking at the progressive but I am bit strapped on funds, moving and all, I was wondering if anyone has use the 90 dollar shocks from DCC? If so are they decent? Should I just wait and get some progressives? I'm not racing just cruising so I...
