    Teledan's XT500 project

It smells terrible but I cut the foam for my seat with a soldering iron. I have a Weller D550PK 120v gun style soldering iron that came with a flat looped tip. I use it all the time for cutting rope and not having a frayed end so I figured it would work well on the seat foam, which it did. I...

    looking for DOHC cb750f guidance

I don't have a factory kill switch anymore so I ran the thin wire from the harness end and the thick wire into the coil. Hopefully that gets me what I was after. Either way the bike starts much, much quicker and runs and sounds much smoother. Color me impressed! I highly recommend picking up...

    looking for DOHC cb750f guidance

A few weeks back I picked up the ignition coil/relay sub harness from sparckmoto.com. I had read on a few different DOHC specific sites that installing a relay and wiring directly to the coil can substantially improve spark, and create a smoother running engine, improve efficiency, etc. I've...

    Nuckingfuts Custom Build (XV750 Done!)

Re: Nuckingfuts Custom Build Such a cool build! As a guy who has gone toe to toe with a tank and a welder - I feel your pain.

Coming along nicely! Your new seat pad is a huge improvement over what Benji's sent it out with.

Re: Bigsam302's 76 CB750F w/GSXR Forks: Project Helen - Finally, progress!!! Super clean! The extra effort towards the little details will no doubt show when all is said and done.

    First build 76 CB750F... Lots of photos/videos

Congrats brother - it turned out great! If I had one gripe about the project, it was the headlight you replaced. This headlight looks much nicer and fits the style of the bike considerably better. The grips turned out nice too!

Another crack at making a DOHC "cool"

Thanks! It sounds good. I'm happy with how it turned out. I might slip the pipe off and add some material to the resonator in the future but given how new it is to me the noise hasn't worn on me yet.

Another crack at making a DOHC "cool"

Looks like it was worth it. I really like it. If you ever end up needing to widen another tank I've have good luck with using compressed air. You have brace the tank and block off the edges to give it a "limit" of how far it can expand but it works well.

Those steel dragon boxes look nice. I have 75/110 jets in right now too. I dropped the clip on my needles one position last night but I haven't taken it out for a ride yet to see if that helped at all. Those steel dragon boxes look nice

Did it mount up without issue?

Another crack at making a DOHC "cool"

Thanks man! Your seat looks great too. I have to ask - what tank are you running? I really like it!

Another crack at making a DOHC "cool"

Thanks for the heads up. I just tried to rotate the filter lose while mounted - wasn't possible while the ends are clamped to the fuel line. If something was to break the glass it would have to either: A. Make its way between my tank and frame rails (where I mounted my filter). Whatever John...

Thanks brother! Here's the guide I followed if you ever end up deciding to give it a try. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nVyPiPvR2g As an added bonus there's some sweet ass background tunes to jam to while you learn!

Another crack at making a DOHC "cool"

Thanks for the compliments gents! After a ride, I have a few things to adjust and install. I forgot to put the breather filter back on the crank case - I'm sure there's some good DIY's on the internet for getting oil out of jeans... Bar position is getting tucked back just a bit and I plan to...

    CB750F DOHC Cam question

Noted. Though where this started was a question about a $30 set of cams. I'm not looking to make this a high powered race engine but if there is something cheap to buy and easy to install like a set of cams I'd be willing to do it - assuming there is a gain to be had.

Another crack at making a DOHC "cool"

With the electric 95% complete I decided to get started on my seat since it's the last major thing I need to do before the bike can hit the road. Let me preface this by saying my sewing experience is very limited and consists of making a few ghillie suits and modifying my gear and uniforms...

    CB750F DOHC Cam question

Ahh shit... I know that's a movie reference, and I know it's from Back to the Future, I just can't remember back to the last time I saw the movie to make it fit this situation. I'm guessing my question has an incredibly obvious answer, but in my defense I don't know the ins and outs of this...

    CB750F DOHC Cam question

What are people doing to increase compression in these engines? Decking heads, domed pistons?
