FRANKENHONDA II the 1982 DOHC CB 750F2 Build

Great to see things back on track! ...and some late advice: diesel has way less headache-inducing fumes but should work as well for stripping ;) Sent from my iPhone using DO THE TON

FRANKENHONDA II the 1982 DOHC CB 750F2 Build

Ow that sucks... those moments where you undo your one work are the absolute worst. I usually try to tell myself the same thing I tell my kids - redoing sucks, but it usually turns out better the second time you do something. F-bombs and lightweight destruction are usually required before...

    Project CB350F cafe brat

From the pic the lower parts of the fork legs seem to be in good shape so you’re right, definitely usable. Build is looking good! Sent from my iPhone using DO THE TON

    Project CB350F cafe brat

Whoa, those fork tubes are in real bad shape. You sure about reusing them? Even with the work you’ve done there’s putting in them. I’d be concerned about them tearing the seals or not sealing to begin with. Also, Ichiban Moto is very funny and completely unserious. Is parts vibratory a thing...

FRANKENHONDA II the 1982 DOHC CB 750F2 Build

Does the starter button, kill switch etc wire into the m-unit so it handles that “logic” or is it only acting as a fuse box for starting purposes? Sent from my iPhone using DO THE TON

FRANKENHONDA II the 1982 DOHC CB 750F2 Build

I was just going off what it looked like in the picture, but your measurements sounds like it would be accurate. Not sure what the geometry (take, trail etc) is currently, but you could jack up the rear as well by extending the rear shocks or moving the mounts. Keep it up, home stretch now :)...

FRANKENHONDA II the 1982 DOHC CB 750F2 Build

Looks awesome! Looks like the exhaust could sit a few mil closer to the frame? And surely OMM can turn up some fork extenders? :) Sent from my iPhone using DO THE TON

Good progress with the engine! Must be frustrating with the setbacks, but as you say - it’s not a sprint :) Öhlins look great on there btw! Sent from my iPhone using DO THE TON

    1970's CB550 custom - Lazarus

Never used a steam cleaner to degrease, but recently used one for my bathroom... does it work well on parts too? Always looking for better ways to clean stuff :) Sent from my iPhone using DO THE TON

    1970's CB550 custom - Lazarus

Do you plan on creating a hoop/subframe to support the seat? ...and will you be painting the frame afterwards? If so I’d do everything frame related first: subframe, seat mount, taillight, foot pegs, exhaust hanger, electrics/battery box etc. Then paint the frame and start reassembling the rest...

FRANKENHONDA II the 1982 DOHC CB 750F2 Build

When I put the engine into my GS I tried to come up with a way to minimize any critical moments fighting gravity not to scratch the frame. What I did was suspend the frame horizontally from the roof, anchored front, back and bottom. I then put the engine sideways on a mini bike lift and jacked...

Bummer with the fins. I have one missing as well but haven’t found any good DIY way of replacing... Best of luck getting those stubborn cylinders out. No tips other than heat, penetrating oil and blunt force :) Sent from my iPhone using DO THE TON
