Seems like I'm not getting enough fuel once the throttle gets to the main jets. I could be wrong abou that though... I'm learning this as I go for sure.

Just in case, I went back to a 200 main jet and leaned out the needle and it is much better but still not quite there. Back to tinkering.

I'm looking for a Yamaha rd200 or R5 tank for my build. If anyone knows where I might pick one up or find one for sale any help would be great. Ebay is a bit of a let down.

What time do these start up? Love to try to make the trip from Grand Rapids with a crew sometime.

Finally got it running up to par. Put the rebuilt carbs back on, checked timing and points again and found a loose connection with the points on my left side. Once I fixed that the bike seems to run pretty well now. I'm thinking I still have some compression issues but not as bad as I thought...

I'm currently having the same issue with my CL350. I've replaced coils, points, reset valves and timing, and had the carbs rebuilt, and it seems to kick in and out of power now. My plan is to recheck valves, timing, and points again and do another compression test. Love to know what you come up...

Thanks Teazer that is great advice! I didn't get a chance to do another compression test yesterday but I got the carbs back from being rebuilt and the bike has much better punch to it. I got it over 55mph no problem however the bike sputters and pops for a bit then will kick in and want to go...

Started up the bike today and it idles great, put it into 1st and it just bogs down and doesn't want to go. I noticed that the plugs were fouling really badly so I took the carbs in to get them bench synced today as I figured I'd make sure those were all set and not the problem first. My plan...

Wow thanks for the advice guys! Sonreir I will give that a shot before I jump into taking the engine out for sure. I took the carbs off yesterday and they were clean as a whistle so I'm guessing that's not the issue. I gave them a good cleaning and soak though and will be putting them back...
