Is there any specific way I should mark the cam so as to remember it's position, like a grease pencil, or is it not required and only goes in one way?

No chance to pull the engine out and yank the head bolts. Here's a picture of the timing chain for all you engine porn people.

I'll take a look, but the guy I got it from said he had just had the head off, and when I looked inside the timing chain cover (big one on top?) it looked (to me) brand new, so I'm wondering if he just redid it. I'll open her up tomorrow and take a picture.
I'll need to order a whole new...
Oh, I don't take it as that at all. I do need allot of guidance.
Any knowledge or tips people can give me would be great. I am slightly mechanically inclined, but know nothing about bikes specifically.
I also realize that turn signals are far down the list. The guy I got it from said...
New signal lights came today. Smaller than I expected but fit well on the front. I'm going to have to tap out the holes on the rear, as they're to small.

Just heard back from a place in Cosworth's area. $300.00 to strip, prime, tape/plight, and paint. That's the middle ground right there.

I've got a couple other quote requests floating around. My buddy let me in on the facts that the auto shop in the neighbouring towns highschool, where the kids from our town go, has an oven and they'll coat stuff just for the learning experience. Free, but dicey.

I'll most likely use whatever I can find as I live in the boonies. The idea is to just get this thing running and then strip it down and make it sweet as I rebuild it. I just want to be sure I'm working on something that will actually run rather than a $200.00 boat anchor.
Going to whip up to...
I have the ears already. Going to stop in at the wreckers on the way down island next weekend, I'm sure they have the housing, even if I have to grab a new bulb.
So I am going to cut the old connectors off and rewire a new connection on so I have a Male/Female set. Are these kind of connectors available from your local radioshack/source store, or are they motorcycle only style connectors I'll have to order online?
So the wiring diagram says this should be a red/white (check) blue/white (check) chocolate (negative) and blue/black (negative). Near as I can figure that's supposed to plug into this one that had there correct colors, but it's a female/female connection. Any tips? I'm wondering if it's not a...
Alert Bay, B.C. Top of Vancouver Island. This guy works out of Courtenay, so it's a minimum 9 hour trip not including ferry costs, just to get it to him. Where you located?
So just to get this right. The wire on the left comes off that little block and goes to the positive. The one in the middle goes from the starter to the other post on the block, and the one on the right goes from the battery to be grounded on the engine block?
