    Hello gentlemen

No worries If you are going for a fighter jet look, what about adding some mesh to the inside of the curved opening at the front and pulling the rearmost ends further inboard to accentuate their look as intake scoops. ? Sent from my SM-G950F using DO THE TON mobile app

    Hello gentlemen

Hi Paul, I think you might be correct... it does look like too much plain aluminium. Excuse the crappy mock-ups, but triangular cutouts with black mesh behind or a heap of small 'speed holes' would make the side panels look smaller.

    Starting problem

Are you sure it's electrical ? If you couldn't find neutral it sounds more like a clutch or gearbox issue... especially if rocking the bike fixed it. Maybe the clutch plates are stuck (or not disengaging fully) and rocking the bike in gear broke them free ?

Bugger... Tell you what though, I'll give you 100/10 for having the guts to try it. I wouldn't have had the courage to, I can tell you. It mightn't have ended the way you had hoped but it sure was an experience you won't forget in a hurry, and the ACE is still running :)

Re: Ace 50 Slowverland trip. QLD > SA Or use maps.me. Works offline so you don't use your mobile data while riding. Download the maps in advance when you have wifi. Maccas is good for that

Ace 50 Slowverland trip. QLD > SA

Hahahaaa... reminds me of a t-shirt you can get from a bike mob in the U.S.A. who specialise in small-bore bikes like the Hoda Rukus etc. Printed proudly on the back is "Sorry... it's already wide open !"

Ace 50 Slowverland trip. QLD > SA

Had the pleasure of meeting Eraser today & handing over the saddlebags. They don't hold heaps but every little bit will help. I also suggested adding some upper cylinder lubricant into the fuel tank to help keep those little valves happy, so here's a link to a very interesting discussion on...

Ace 50 Slowverland trip. QLD > SA

Howdy, The ACE tank is about 200 wide at the front, tapering down to about 160 wide at the rear. Tell you what... I'm in Adelaide too so if you'd like I'd be happy to lend you my saddlebag & you can either replace it with a new one (if you'd like to keep it) or just return it clean when you...

Ace 50 Slowverland trip. QLD > SA

Re: Ace 50 Slowverland trip. QLD > SA I dunno how you'll carry all that stuff plus your massive balls What an adventure ! I'd suggest you also carry a pre-gapped spark plug and plug spanner. Also give some thought to finding a way to carry as much stuff on the bike rather than just in a...

    new, ideas for tires?

Tried recently to get the M45's in Australia and was told they are not available any more. Ended up with Pirelli City Demons.

Hi Kev, My search of AliExpress didn't show anything for the ACE so I looked for baby Honda's as well. The 125cb, cg, cub... that sort of thing. Nada, nothing, bupkiss, zero, zilch. It's starting to look like I'll have to make them... especially if what datadavid says is true & welding...

    Something to beware of.

Hi Crazy, Yes, that's a possibility. Turn off the damaged part & tig weld a sleeve back on with a decent hex. Hi Tim, They are stock Skyteam ACE forks. The ACE is a Chinese bike based on the Honda CG-ish series so there's a chance there is something available as a spare part or aftermarke...

    Something to beware of.

Hi Crazy, I think mine were made of cheese 'coz they rounded-off as soon as I put decent leverage on them. Michael was the first guy I called, but he couldn't help & suggested I contact Ikonic in Perth. It doesn't look like OO Racing can help either so I'm going to go to Plan B. I dunno what...

    Something to beware of.

Hi Everyone, Thought I'd dismantle my front forks today to fit the spring spacers & new 30w oil. Getting the top cap off was a real mission 'coz they just didn't want to budge. Even after all the usual tricks and applying some gentle heat to the fork tube, the flats on the caps just rounded...

    Ace Owners Locator

Thanks Chris, Jeez... if the rear wheel isn't inline with the front wheel I'd be more worried about the effect on safe handling than I would about it rubbing on the guard.
