Well I took the cylinders off and one of the connecting rods looks to have been starved for oil and is fused to the crank...so the motor is going to get completely rebuilt. On a positive note, I get to learn/rebuild the entire motor and I have one of the best vintage British bike mechanic/racer...
Doesn't seem that any water got into the motor. I did notice the crank case oil had a very thick viscosity to it when I drained it. Ill keep working on pistons as you said. Thanks for the help XB!
Hey all! So I picked up a 1973 bonneville 750 and hard tail frame for $1000 yesterday. Motor was out and just a rolling frame. He says engine was not stuck and he was going to rebuild it but has no time or money to finish. He said he rode and ran fine before he took the motor out. The motor...
I have a '08 Ducati Sport 1000 that I have had for 4 years now. Its a blast to ride! Only thing is I live in Charleston SC and we have ZERO riding around here so the bike doesn't get ridden as it should/intended. I was always on the fence about selling it because they bring so much money...
Honestly I can't remember...too many parts for too many bikes since then...I know they cost over $100 for the pair. Just google it...ton of places selling them. Good luck!
The "urban" model...is bit more easy to digest. I'm sure they have high pipes ready to sell as an upgrade, along with other upgrades. Have to see and ride one first before I can truly hate or love it I guess...
Happy Friday all! It's amazing what some people see as worthless...So I picked this up a couple of weeks ago...$300 w/title! Needed carbs cleaned/rebuilt and the tank needed cleaned/sealed. I took it out for a spin this morning...350f's are a blast! Why they get a bad wrap is beyond me...I...
Hello all! I have a 1965 yamaha ya6 125 that Ive got back on the road. I did an engine swap and hooked everything back up as it was. So I thought... The bike runs and rides great but the starter will stay running even after you kill the engine and take the key out of the ignition. I had to...
Buy it...offer him $400. You can get it running right. You know it runs...Its probably an easy fix with the carbs...$400-$600 for a titled somewhat running bike is a no brainer...unless its a complete rust bucket that needs new forks, rims, tank etc. You have to start somewhere if you want to...
You can have it welded as long as its not too big of a hole. You will have to have the inside of the tank sealed afterwards...just had the same issue with a Jawa tank. You can take it to radiator repair shop to have the work done. FYI I also have a cm400 tank and matching side covers if...
