I'm going to be using an Antigravity 4 Cell battery on my '77 CB550 build and the voltage need to it needs to stay within safe bounds, I think it is 11.6 and 14.2. Does anyone know if a Rick's Regulator rectifier will keep the voltage within these safe bounds?
Cheers in advance

I tied the secondary battery box in with some 550 military spec paracord as I might not keep it permanently. Using the paracoed and a bolt lets me take it off at a later date if I don't need it.
As for the engine, I took a trip up to DM Engineering to see the progress....considering the block...
My engine is just in the last stages of a full rebuild and the next decision is to choose a piston set. Any recommendations or advice? Is there a huge difference between the standard spec, eBay specials and Wiseco goodness? It's had a mild performance tickle but nothing too major. I'm after a...
Bit more progress on the CB build yesterday. Started to plan the final placement of the Antigravity batteries and the Motogadget M-Unit. After much messing about and mocking up I quickly realised I'd underestimated the space needed. Originally I wanted both batteries and the M-Unit in the tail...
Hi jmagno316, I'd not seen your build before but after reading your build thread I can see a few similarities. Yours has a more aggressive stance tan mine which I like. Keep up the good work. Some pretty entertaining posts in your thread too.
More progress on the CB today. Mostly small detail jobs but god is in the detail as they say. Final mount of the rear indicators on the rear shock mounts, tail light mounted and hole drilled to hide the wires, license plate bracket (as slick and minimal as I can make it....I'd rather it wasn't...
I sort of see what you mean but I really didn't just want another Café Racer that was exactly the same silhouette as everything else. The clip-ons are actually relatively high so the overall balance suits the brat seat. I'll be doing some longer trips on it next year so the longer seating are...
Got the frame, swingarm and other brackets from powder coat yesterday, unfortunately not enough textured black for everything :'( but it's still looking all brand new in it's new satin outfit. Couldn't resist a little mockup.....happy chappy!
Got my tyres mounted onto the freshly powdered wheels and they're looking good! Heard from the people who are powder coating the frame, swinger and other bits and I can pick it up on Wednesday. Hopefully by the weekend I'll have a rolling chassis 8)
I think for the amount of time it takes I'd rather buy them and spend precious shed time on something else but interesting to see they can be made in a pinch.
I seem to remember some place called Silver something or other that sells oem parts?
Anyone know of a place in the UK that I can order OEM parts for my CB build? I'm particularly in need of number 4 in the picture below:
BUSH CUSHION CB550F2 SUPER SPORT 550 FOUR 1977 ENGLAND
Bit the bullet and dropped the frame and swing arm off at the media blaster...and two hours later it was ready to pick up! I've tried to use as many local services as possible on this build and so far they have all delivered fantastic service.
Frame, swing arm and a load of other small...
Got a sneak preview of the wheels yesterday. Blasted back to bare alloy, black satin powder, polished rim and then a protective layer of clear. Can't wait to see them in the flesh and mount up the Dunlop Mutants!
Progress has been a little slow with the CB550 rebuild in the last week or three but I've got a few major bits started. The wheels have been sent off to powder coat and have the edge of the rim polished, frame is complete as far as fabrication is concerned and tyres are on the way. I've decided...
I've got 17" wheels from an Aprilia RS 125 R modded to fit my CB and I've been looking through tyre options. I'm really liking the look of Dunlop Mutants but not sure what width tyre the rear will take? I'm not looking to put anything stupidly wide, just like to know what width not to exceed...
Picking up the frame tomorrow ;D Can't wait to have it back in one solid piece. Then as soon as it's here I'll be dropping it off (as well as a few other bits and bobs such as motor mounts, spacers, swing arm etc) for powder coating. Also pulled my finger out and stripped the old tyres...
